A very nice little gem of a place.Everything from the hostess to the wine selection and the cheese plate we had was wonderful.

We’ve been wanting to check out some more of the restaurants in Old Town Fairfax. The Wine House did not disappoint! I had the pork tenderloin with mashed potatoes and green beans. The tenderloin was wrapped in an olive tapenade and prosciutto. It was cooked perfectly and absolutely delicious! For dessert we had the Dark Chocolate Terrine with espresso cream and toasted hazelnuts. It was decadent and wonderful. Of course the wine selection was great. Looking forward to going back again.

Had a nice brunch at the wine house, smaller menu but good specials and large wine and beer list.

Love the cozy ambience and the phenomenal wine selection. Kevin is a great Sommelier who has tasted every bottle he carries. If you enjoy fine wine, it's a beautifully curated selection. The best part is that you can buy your wine at the store and then they open it right for you at dinner without gouging you at a 3-4x markup! Imagine getting a good burgundy at an affordable price for dinner! They've had the same chef for years and the food is very consistent. Highly recommend for a date night or just a meet up with friends who love great wine. Wine Stop is a great gem for us here in Fairfax!

We had the absolute best lunch to celebrate my husband's birthday at the Wine House. The food was outstanding, the wine recommendations spot on, and the service was excellent. They obviously have a ton of options as far as wine which can be intimidating, but they walked us through it all. They even helped us decide on a bottle to take home and we left also as members of their wine club. We cannot wait to return. We did participate in restaurant week which was such a great deal, but we had been last month and also enjoyed everything we ordered then too!

We dined during Restaurant Week, so it was an especially good value. Individual glasses of wine featured generous pours. Food was fresh and prepared creatively. Will definitely be back.

Went today for restaurant week lunch set menu with a group of co-workers. The food was ok, but not good enough that I'd go back again to eat. One person ordered a burger medium rare, it came out well done. He ate it and didn't complain, so obviously it wasn't able to be corrected by staff. Co workers seemed to like their food well enough and lunch was $25 for the set price menu which is fine. There was an auto gratuity of 20%, which we knew about beforehand. This was a 3 course lunch, and the restaurant was about 60% full. Each time food arrived to the table, brought mostly by the host, she would stand next to where I was sitting and say "I've got a xxxx" then I would proceed to tell them who ordered it and either she walked around the table to deliver it, or we'd slide it around to the right person. This occurred over three courses, times seven people. I found myself wondering if anybody who worked there was even trying to keep track of who ordered what, and why am I the one directing everybody around, and what is this 20% gratuity for? The server was very nice, but she was not around much, assuming working other tables. Maybe I'm grouchy but the service was on par with what you get at a fast food place when they have to take a little extra time to make your hot fries and then bring it out to you. Anyway, I might go back for some wine, but the service was lacking and food not memorable.

The food preparation and quality is excellent. We had the salmon, steak frites, and lamb shank and loved them all. The beet salad, the poached pear salad, and the squash bisque were outstanding. The chocolate terrine, tiramisu, and crème brûlée cannot be beat!! Can't wait to dine there again!!!

Upon my arrival, I was notified that the reservation had limitations in that my reserved table must be vacated by 7:15 pm. I was dining with a business associate. It was embarrassing. If I had known this, when making the arrangement, I would have made reservations at another restaurant.

Last night we had reservations for 3 people for 7pm. We arrived and were told that our table was not ready to give them about 20 to 15 minutes. We did and then we inquired again and they kept apologizing that it was not ready. Then they offered for us to sit at the bar while we waited. They did give us complimentary wines and we proceeded to order our appetizer. We asked again and they said soon we would be moved. As we waited we saw three different larger parties being sat at tables that arrived later than us! We finally had our adult son cross the street to One Bar and Grill and he called and told us they found us a table over there. We paid our appetizer and left. We like their food and wines and even purchased two bottles when we left to which they also gave us a discount. However, when you make a reservation you expect to be seated close if not at the time you made them. If you cannot honor reservations and you don't have the space then don't take them!!! We felt that for them last night bigger parties were prioritized because they knew they would make more money with them. We were extremely disappointed with the fact that our reservations were not honored or respected. We will not be returning now.

The food and service were wonderful. We just happened to be finishing lunch when a full restaurant wine tasting started. We joined in on the tasting at our table and bought a couple bottles. Will definitely return for the rosé festival!

I want to franchise it, it's that good. Only complain that they don't update their food menu more often. I have been there so many times I have had every single dish 3 times over....

With a reservation for my dad’s birthday, we didn't realize you had to specify what kind of table you would get when you reserve. My dad just had knee surgery and is unable to sit at high top tables. Despite being early to our reservation and the restaurant being only 1/3 full, the hostess told us we were only able to be sat at a high top because we didn’t request a different kind of table. As an employee at a restaurant I understand when places are busy and have less flexibility, but this just seemed like something they should have been able to solve. We ended up leaving and luckily were able to get seating somewhere nearby, but this was a very frustrating experience for us.

Celebrating two family members' birthdays and this is one of their (and all of our) favorite restaurants. The service thanks to Lisa and the food were terrific as they have been on each of our previous visits. Love this place!

Dining at the Wine House has always been a treat. Recently, the cuisine gone from award-winning to stellar. Don't miss the Beef Burgundy, so authentically French and the boneless short rib, as tasty as in the best restaurants of New Orleans.
