Got 2 orders of the sweet and sour chicken and the shrimp wonton, the price did not add up, regardless, took the food home, I ate it, got sick as a dog, my father ate the food, was throwing up all night and my wife ate it an got sick as well. The place is very old and seems dirty, but definitely would not recommend.

We've been coming here for many, many years. We always get the wonton noodle soup. When my fiancee was sick, the congee here really hit the spot. It's a nice hole in the wall for authentic cantonese/chinese. Don't come here looking for general tsos. We absolutely love this place. Hope they have a happy year of the dragon and many more to come!

Nestled in an unassuming Annandale plaza, Miu Kee is a hidden gem for all who seek the magic of genuine Cantonese cuisine. Stepping into this restaurant is like stepping into a portal to Hong Kong, the air alive with the fragrant sizzle of stir-fries and the comforting murmur of Cantonese chatter. My recent visit was an absolute delight, earning Miu Kee a well-deserved 5-star rating. The extensive menu is a testament to the restaurant's dedication to culinary authenticity. From familiar favorites to lesser-known specialties, Miu Kee caters to both adventurous and traditional palates. I opted for the classic two-item BBQ plate, featuring the iconic duo of char siu (BBQ pork) and siu yuk (crispy roast pork). While the char siu veered slightly towards the dry side, the siu yuk was pure perfection - shatteringly crisp skin yielding to juicy, flavorful meat. The price might seem a bit steep at first glance, but considering the quality and authenticity, it's a cost I'm more than willing to bear. The stir-fried garlic pea sprouts were a revelation. Cooked to a perfect crispness, they boasted an abundance of fresh garlic and a symphony of vibrant vegetables. The savory broth they swam in was like a warm hug for the palate, a testament to the chefs' mastery of simple yet soul-satisfying flavors. But the pièce de résistance, the dish that transported me back to my childhood, was the crispy pan-fried chow mein with chicken and bean sprouts in gravy. Each bite was a nostalgic explosion - the soft noodles absorbing the rich gravy, the tender chicken adding a savory counterpoint, and the bean sprouts offering a delightful textural contrast. It was a dish that transcended taste and became a memory, a culinary comfort blanket on a plate. The service at Miu Kee was just as impeccable as the food. The staff, friendly and attentive, added to the welcoming atmosphere, ensuring a seamless and enjoyable dining experience. Miu Kee is not just a restaurant; it's a window into a vibrant culinary culture. The dedication to authenticity, the quality of ingredients, and the masterful execution of traditional Cantonese dishes combine to create an experience that is both delicious and deeply satisfying. So, if you're looking for a taste of Hong Kong in the heart of Northern Virginia, make your way to Miu Kee. You won't be disappointed. My 5-star rating speaks for itself, and I urge you to discover your own Cantonese culinary haven at Miu Kee.

Though the food was a little over priced, it was very good. The server was excellent too. Brought more water without me asking when I finished my glass. She was friendly and efficient. The bathroom could use a little updating, but the overall appearance and atmosphere was good. Great authentic Chinese food for sure.

This was my mom's favorite place for authentic Cantonese before Covid. We used to go as a family. They have Cantonese BBQ - roast pork (char siu), roast pig with the crunchy skin, spareribs, & roast (southern vs Peking) duck. They have congee and Hong Kong style wonton soups. Dishes that we often get family style, besides choice of 2 of the BBQ, include beed chow fun, fish (or beef) with Chinese sour cabbage, chicken (or seafood) pan fried noodles, and something I refer to as sizzling (Chinese) pepper steak [I'm not sure how it is listed on the menu], among other dishes. Dishes generally were sizable. Service was attentive. In recent years, I've been stopping by to pick up carryout. I was surprised to find that the restaurant has reduced their hours. They close at 9 pm on selected weekdays. I'm guessing that Covid has cause employee shortage with restaurants. On some evenings the restaurant has many customers, on other days more sparse.

I hope the boss of this restaurant can see my feedback, thanks. Your staffs was trying to make the tip as the mandatory to the customers and asked them to tip more.I came there yesterday with my family as a group of 5 people, we ordered food and the food was good but some were too sweet. However, everything was fine until I came to the service table to pay for the meals while my mom was handling the staff $10 tips. After that, he brought that $10 tips up front where I stood to asked me “Only $10 tips?” and I was like “Yes, we tipped you that much”. His face turned to be any angry face and told that to another woman staff and then she came to me to teach me that “If you went to here as a group of 5, I must count that you should tip 15% and that was the basic tip and however, it was up to you”. I was like “It was up to me so I tipped you that much, what would you as for more?”. She tried to teach me as many as she could until I was exhausted and brought more $5 to tip more.If you want to charge for a group of people service, just note down on a paper like other restaurants not just until we come pay you and try to tell the customers that you should tip more since we came here ti enjoy your foods and we might come another times if you won’t say that to the customers. Thanks, your foods are good but your services and the tip mandatory from your staffs are very awful. Thanks for reading!

I was visiting the Northern Virginia and Washington D.C area and decided to eat at this Chinese restaurant to have a nice dinner. Once we waled in we were quickly seated and as soon as my hand touched the table there was a sticky and un-appetizing feeling, probably from these tables not being properly cleaned for years. On to the food, it seemed like the restaurant is experiencing a lack of salt in all their dishes. As each of the dishes came out it seemed like they were getting worse and worse with a lack of salt. One of the dishes that we ordered was seafood noodles, which is a dish consisting of deep fried noddles with a seafood sauce poured on top. Probably one of the worst dishes that we ordered with it being the most bland tasting like wet cardboard with a slight bit of shrimp. Soon after this dish arrived the waiter came over to refill our water cups and ended up spilling more water into the dishes than actually in the cup which did not help with the bland flavor at all! Lastly we ordered a chicken dish which was supposed to be fresh cuts of chicken with a ginger sauce as said in the menu, but what came out on the plate was a complete disappointment. The plate that was handed to us was a plate of what seemed like scraps of chicken the worked gathered throughout the day. Overall I was not pleased with the experience and I am making a public service announcement to no come to Mui Kee and send your money else where.

Totally forgot how good Miu Kee is. Good size black bean clams, char siu was tender and flavorful. Everything was so fresh and came out in 10mins! If your going to order Chinese food make sure you order the right stuff!
