13 Best Dog Friendly Restaurants Flint Hill

Flint Hill Public House & Restaurant American •
675 Zachary Taylor Hwy, Flint Hill

“This place was renamed years ago The Blue Door. I dont know why Google hasn't kept up. It's a lovely old building, once one of the county's neighborhood schools before all the county schools were incorporated into one location. It has since been turned into a restaurant and inn. I've not stayed there, as I live in the area, but I have eaten there and recently threw a party there in one of the dining rooms. The decor is modern and serene. The service is friendly but non-intrusive. The menu features local and seasonal fare, so it changes from time to time. Everything runs well under the watchful eye of its gracious owner Reem.“

“What a cool spot. Glad we ran into some locals who recommended it. Owner is deaf and this place really embraced it making it a theme with the sign for each drink next to it and ASL stickers available. Its a funky spot that is family friendly. Plenty of seating, indoor and outdoor. There are some toys for kids and cool funk music playing in the background. Great place to hit after a day on the trails.“

Glen Manor Vineyards Wineries •
2244 Browntown Rd, Front Royal - 8.77 miles

“After our hike in Shenandoah National Park, we stopped by Glen Manor for a glass of wine as it is very close to the trails. When having wine here you get to enjoy the same stunning views as hiking in the national park. The scenery is truly breathtaking. The service we encountered was exceptional. The staff members are true wine experts and treat you like royalty. The wine itself was fantastic. It's worth noting to bring your own snacks or lunch as they don't offer food on-site, but they do allow you to bring your own. With a spacious patio and outdoor area, you can sit back, unwind, and fully absorb the incredible mountain views. This will be a post-hike tradition for me from now on!“

“We ended up at the Black Twig by happenstance. We were expecting a lowbrow burger and wings joint when we saw the ketchup and mustard bottles on the outside tables. We were happily wrong. The first thing we experienced was the very personable bartender who sat us at our booth. Our server, John Ingram, was stellar. He knew the menu well and gave excellent recommendations to us all. Two of my friends ordered the Grapefruit Blitz cocktail and loved it. For appetizers, we ordered asparagus and artichokes, crispy brussel sprouts, bread with pimento cheese, and tartine; all were very good. The pimento cheese is worth the extra cheedar. See what I did there?I had the Spring gnocchi and the Rockfish entrees (Don’t judge me). Another guest had the Rockfish (that's how I knew I wanted it), another guest had the chicken and risotto, and finally, we ordered the chicken kale Caesar. Our only complaint was the chicken breast was the tiniest bit tough. If you find yourself driving through, this place is worth the stop.“

Narmada Winery Winery • $$
43 Narmada Ln, Amissville - 6.33 miles

“The property is beautiful and peaceful, so it was a real treat to enjoy a selection of their wines while lounging comfortably on the wraparound verandah/porch. Their white wines are especially good. The Indian food offered is also very very tasty and authentic. Visited on a Saturday and there was love music, which was a great touch. Narmada is good for a chill day of wine drinking (on the wraparound or on one of the chairs beneath one of the many trees), nibbling, and going then going for a walk to the pond.Visited as part of a Spirited Tours winery and vineyard tasting. Harvest time was just beginning but the owner took time to chat with our tour group. Great experience.“

Pen Druid Brewing Brewery • $
3863 Sperryville Pike, Sperryville - 9.76 miles

“A hidden gem. Excellent beer, cider, and natural wine. Too many microbreweries that taste the same, not everyone should make beer just because they can. These folks are talented. Beautiful spot with a nice walking path and mountain views. There’s a great onsite food option as well!“
