Apocalypse Ale Works is one of the few craft breweries in the region that does Belgian-style beer successfully. Their “Lustful Maiden” Dubbel is a standout offering among a wide variety of styles on offer. A cosy small bar area is complemented by an enclosed porch and a delightful outdoor space. Highly recommend taking the trip to visit these guys!
My brother swore by this one and I'm sure he's visited most (if not all) of the breweries in this part of the country (likely twice). We stopped in for a couple on a recent afternoon. I love the layout, it's laid back and cozy with plenty of spaces to set up and have private conversation--you can hear the music (it was good) without it being overwhelming. Love the beer, awesome microbrewery, love the store next door. The food is good, the facility is cool, the outside areas are very comfortable and nice also. I wish there was a better, easier way to order beer inside sometimes. I've been there when 10 people are in line waiting to get a beer from the bartender. That could definitely be improved upon. That said, I really really like the place. Owners are really cool people also. I want to buy the beer making kit and take classes...read full review
