Eating here for the first time at my friend's choosing.. The food was OK... Classic diner food. The location and atmosphere probably supercede the food...Service was good though once you got seated.

I wanted it to be so much more, but it was just average. It’s classic dinner food. The pancakes were good but everything else was average.

Eating at Amy's for the first time was a solidly good experience. We were stuck in traffic and we stopped in for lunch to rest for a little bit. The staff was the best part. It felt like it wouldn't take long to know everyones name and be welcomed as family. The food was satisfying-good sized lunch portions. Highly recommend the French Silk Pie. The Reuben Egg Rolls were a fun novelty-heavy and fried. Overall-I'd love a little more flavor and a comfortable booth, but don't skip it. Amy's is a local treasure.

Best Burger and Sweet Potato Fries in Fredericksburg! I eat my burgers with just cheese, but it comes with everything ? Delicious!!

I cannot say enough good things about the wait staff at this place. They could not be better! The food was pretty good diner quality food. Nothing creative. I did find the physical plant to be a bit gross. Needs a deep clean and renovation.

We went out for dinner on a Saturday night. I ordered a sandwich and onion rings and my husband ordered a country fried steak and coleslaw. They accidentally overcooked his steak so they redid it. I wish they had offered him a free dessert for his wait. But the food was tasty and we enjoyed listening to live music.Parking: It was crowded and we got the last spot in their lot.

Amy's Cafe food was really good. This was our first visit. The French dip sandwich was paired with a cup of the roasted red pepper and gouda soup. Delicious. I had the potato soup and half turkey/cheese. Very healthy portions. Will definitely return to this Cafe.Wheelchair accessibility: Great ramp going into the Cafe.

My friends and I got stranded in Fredericksburg because of car troubles and stumbled upon Amy’s cafe. They were so hospitable and let us keep our car overnight. The food was great, service was AMAZING, and overall just an outstanding experience. Our server, Betty, greeted us warmly from the moment we stepped inside and took care of us all night. We recommend this place to anyone stopping by or in the area!!!

**Beware dog people** the lady at the front (white, older, blonde ponytail) was very mean when I entered with my dog! This cafe pops up as one of the top restaurants to go to with a dog, and she continued demanding that I step out (I was only 1 step in front of the door). It’s outdoor seating only, and they don’t have heaters.I’m very patient and understanding to restaurant regulations with dogs, but her initial response right as I entered was very defensive & off putting. The whole restaurant stopped to look why she was so intense. We didn’t get a chance to try the food. That interaction was enough to not want to stay or return.

Fine example of a hometown place. Comfortable and that says a lot. Not the fanciest but that’s fine. Give it a try and decide for yourself.
