*EDIT**The owner of Cafe New Orleans claims that they are out of business,, but J2's Restaurant and Lounge both lists the same address and delivered food that looks suspiciously similar to the food images from Cafe New Orleans. Once whoever owns J2's also owns the Google maps listing for this address I will remove this edit. Until then this is the only way to find reviews on this place easily.**This review is for the listing they have on DoorDash as J2's Restaurant and Lounge. The driver showed up at the restaurant and waited for 20 minutes before a new driver was assigned, who also showed up and waited another 20 minutes. The restaurant took so long to make the order that it arrived almost an hour and a half after ordering, even though I'm not that far away.They didn't deliver at least 3 items we ordered. The fried broccoli was disgusting. Okra was slightly fried.The worst was the shrimp and oyster po'boy. It had no shrimp at all, and 4 small pieces of oyster. It had none of the sauce it claims to come with either. The rest of the food was mediocre at best. Will never ever order or risk eating here again.

So the food took almost 50 minutes to be made, they missed several items in our takeout order, and their "shrimp and oyster" poboy had no shrimp and only 4 small oysters for nearly a $13 dish, and didn't have the remoulade or any sauce. This was probably one of my worst experiences in getting food I've had at a restaurant, they have serious and substantial quality control problems.To top it off, the food we did get wasn't particularly appetizing. The sides were greasy and the fries were soggy.

Dropped in while visiting on a cool winter day and glad we did. We tucked into a booth with a street view and started with fried crawfish tails, lightly breaded and flavorful. The crawfish etouffee was sumptuous and the red beans and rice rich and well seasoned. The corn maque choux soup turned out to be the unexpected star, and went well with the wonderful hush puppies. Service was attentive and very friendly.

A group of 5 of us came here yesterday while visiting Fredericksburg and the food and service was excellent! I believe our server was Michelle, and she was so kind! Next time we visit Fredericksburg we will definitely come here again! 10/10 Recommend ?

Stopped in for a birthday dinner for my husband, this place was fantastic! The staff, including the kitchen staff, was positive and upbeat, greeting us throughout the meal. Husband’s steak was cooked to perfection and I didn’t even have to trick him into eating the broccoli, which was roasted well. Our kids lived the dirty rice and fried salmon. My oyster po boy was just out of this world! Would highly recommend stopping by this charming joint!
Covid 19- an employee has tested positive for covid 19. All of the employees have been exposed to the covid 19 positive person. They are all still working and serving customers even though they have been exposed. The resturant has not been closed for covid 19 cleaning and remains open and serving customers.

If you like cajun food, you'll love this place. I had the shrimp and crawfish ettouffee, it was AMAZING. If your looking for a craft beer bar, this isn't the place to go. But the food more than makes up for that.
