We tried Mass 29 on a friend’s recommendation and it did not disappoint! From the ambience to the service to the food and wine, everything was amazing! My husband had the beef tibs, an Ethiopian dish that was delicious. I had the flank steak. It was perfectly cooked to my liking with creamy mashed potatoes and a Gorgonzola sauce. Our wine, Silk and Spice was delicious. We tried and lived the sambusas- had a little spice but not too much. We’re taking the lemon dessert home for later. We can’t wait to go back. Prices were reasonable too.

Truly one of the best meals I’ve had in a very long time. Emmanuel, the owner and chef, is incredibly talented… everything was perfectly cooked and seasoned. Excellent value too! Our waitress was awesome. She was really knowledgeable about the intricacies of each menu item and you could tell she cared about making good recommendations on what to order.What a great place with lots of energy ! Can’t believe I haven’t been here before now, but we will be back!!

I am a regular patron, and have enjoyed many entrees. I felt compelled to write this, after getting an order of chicken wings. At age 73, I had never experienced slow cooked wings. Ribs, yes. Wings, no. After the slow cooking, they were crisped up and spiced. Totally unique !!! DEE-licious !

Maaza 29 is easily our favorite restaurant, there are so many positives to highlight: - Great local restaurant and the opportunity to support local business! - Excellent food and expansive menu; Maaza 29 has excellent cuisine selections from Ethiopian to American, to Cajun, and the list goes on. A lot of creativity went into planning this menu! Favorites are the Beef Sambusa, Confit of Chicken Wings, and Awaze Tibs. - One of the best examples of wine sourcing I have seen in awhile at a restaurant; always a great bottle of wine there and the owner and staff are super knowledgeable on wine (cocktails are great too)! - The staff at Maaza are amazing....literally the staff and the food are the reason we come back so much. So in sum, do yourself a favor and visit Maaza 29. You won't regret the decision!

Made to order menu items! Always fresh and delicious. The Eggplant Parmesan is one you've never had anywhere else. It creates friends of eggplant. Our usual app is the Potato Sambusa which is spicy if you drag it in the special sauce, which we do! Maaza 29 has The Southern Belle Red Blend wine that pairs perfectly with the majority of their dishes. The Awaze Tibs, Gnocchi Bolognese, the Steak Frites, and the Chicken & Shrimp Piccata are also delightful. You can be stuffed to the max and not feel regret!! Dessert...special cookie ice cream sandwiches.
