I randomly went to this place after a game and I’m stuck between revisiting because of the customer service by one of the bartenders at the back bar I was with a party of 5 and I’m sure combined we spent well over $700 saying that to say I asked a bartender who name started with a L for a glass of water she ignored so did Hispanic bartender one of my friends asked for a drink she made it I ask again may I please have some water she said I don’t have time to make you some water after she said that I said ok a young lady make jasmine came up I asked her could she get us some water only 2 cups she refilled both our glasses so I tipped her because although she was busy she took the time out to help us out. Then after I got my water I said thank you jasmine and the other bartender said you can’t get mad I didn’t want to make you any water smh

On somewhat of an impromptu trip to Richmond, after dinner, we headed to my favorite local Cigar spot, Mona Lounge & Cigar Bar. I'm glad the word lounge comes before cigar in the name because Monas is definitely more of a lounge these days. This would be my third time coming to Monas and it has become more and more popular each visit. So much so, there's a Doorman and a line backed down the sidewalk if you come on a Saturday after 9. Trying to get a table seat without a reservation will fall on death ears so you'll have to try your luck at the two bars if you want to sit down. On Saturdays there's live music on one side and a dj on the other. Mona's offers a full food menu and the food is actually good, especially for a lounge. The cigar selection is limited and the humidor is super small. I do appreciate that they don't require you to purchase a stick so you can bring your own. It seems that they're not fully utilizing the space in the main room to the fullest. They could easily add several tables and it wouldn't feel crowded (in my opinion)..LOL! All and all, Mona Lounge and Cigar Bar is always a good time, and we noticed, the women outnumbered the men which I have NEVER seen where cigars are being smoked. Told ya, Monas was more of a lounge..LOL!!

I had a disappointing experience at the cigar lounge under Maria's management. Her lack of attention to detail and poor communication skills made the atmosphere unpleasant. The staff seemed disorganized, and the service was subpar. Overall, Maria's management style detracted from what could have been an enjoyable visit to the lounge. I will not be coming back.

Service is terrible. This is a really well done establishment everything except for the female staff. The female waitresses would not serve a group of us at the bar trying to get drinks we had to have a man order for us, then had to wave down the male bartender at the other end of the bar to receive service. Very disappointing for such a nice place. The attitude and disposition of the staff does not match the environment the owners are trying to create.

During my visit last Saturday for a friend's 50th birthday celebration, we encountered several issues at the venue. Initially, the hostess was unavailable, so we seated ourselves at the bar where the bartender didn't greet us and took our menus away. Despite our attempts to accommodate our party, the bartender displayed unprofessional behavior, advising us not to touch certain chairs. The situation escalated when a member of our party was provided a chair that was initially denied by another employee, leading to unnecessary conflict. The manager's did not apologize, and the overall experience, particularly Lily's unprofessionalism, is likely to discourage future visits. In contrast, our server, Ashley, demonstrated professionalism and was an asset to the business. Unfortunately, due to this experience, I am unlikely to return.
The ambiance was on point, roomy, quaint & comfortable. The food was delish and they have a good number of options without the menu being too crowded. The bartender who served us (So sorry I can't remember her name ) was excellent! She was patient, polite and made one of the best Old Fashions I've had in a while

My husband loves cigars so we have been quite a few times. We’re not from the Richmond area but every time we’re there, we make a stop at Mona’s. The cigar selection, the food and the drinks are all good. And if you time it right, you’ll even experience great live music. If you’re into those kinds of things, male or female, this is a must try.
