I have been going to Padows for my HS and peanuts (plus other delicious stuff) for over 40 years. Their country ham is just the best you can find. The sandwiches in their shops are outstanding and the people are just the best. Highly recommend this old Richmond family deli.

This place has potential but they don't give you much meat in their sandwiches.

We were ignored when we entered the deli. After 5 minutes, order was taken. He recommended we split order the Turkey Destroyer Sandwich for $13.95 because it was a massive sandwich. Description wasSmoked turkey breast, smoked turkey pastrami, swiss cheese, cole slaw and 1000 island on marble rye bread. Waited about 20 minutes & a small regular size sandwich arrived. We thought the order was wrong at first. I saw no smoked turkey, no swiss cheese & god knows what type of meat was really on the sandwich. It sure didn't look like turkey pastrami. It was thinly cut lunch meat, maybe 2 slices. They sell hams and turkey there. Why are you using lunch meat on your sandwiches? Awful sandwich. Bread was dripping wet and soggy. My husband was still hungry after eating his half. No, he is not over weight, he only weighs 134 pounds. Never, never again will we eat at Padow's!

This was my first time visiting Padow's. I have heard of them in the past. Now that they are literally around the corner from my office, I decided to give them a try.The menu reminds me of a good old fashioned corner deli that is very common up north. A good selection of sandwiches, soups and a dessert case. I had the#55 Virginian, which was a club with ham, cheese and turkey with choice of bread and cheese. I chose wheat, toasted, and Swiss. I didn't regret my decision. This was a sandwich packed with meat and flavor! There were also two pickle spears on the side. The service was fast and friendly. I had to step outside to take a phone call while I was waiting and the gentleman at the register bought my bag out to me when I was ready.I highly recommend Padow's. Support local!

Ladies with the braids are rude as hell to the elderly employees. Don’t support this business.

I recently discovered Padow's and I am so thankful I did! I was craving a deli sandwich but with a gluten allergy, my options close to me are quite limited. So, when I saw Padow's had gluten free bread, I was ecstatic. We came for lunch today, which is the third time we've enjoyed them but first time we've eaten inside. It's quaint but has lots of seating. The ambiance is very much an old style deli which focuses on food more than how they look, which I thoroughly enjoy. I ordered the Padow's House Special on gluten free bread, which is country ham, Turkey breast, American cheese, lettuce, tomato, and Mayo. I ordered without cheese due to also having a dairy allergy. The sandwich was absolutely perfect. The tomatoes were fresh and juicy in a good way, the lettuce was crisp, and there was a generous portion of both meats. I also am a fan of moist sandwiches, so I enjoyed the large helping of Mayo but those who don't should order light sauce, since that seems to be the norm for each sauce and sandwich. I also got a side order of the redskin potato salad which was yummy. The staff is also very helpful and will answer any questions. There were so many options we took a few minutes to order and they were so kind and gracious, and we didn't feel rushed at all. Overall, I'm very happy every time we either eat here or order to-go and I recommend anyone in the mood for a deli sandwich to make the trip here.

Ordered takeout sandwiches and they tasted very good, but I am sure they would have tasted even better in-house. But beyond the food, I was very impressed by the crew that ran the place.I am going to get in trouble for any word I use, but I am thankful for the efforts of the experienced gentlemen who were putting in a hard day's work. I am always inspired and hope I can work just as hard throughout my life. KUDOS!
