“Tonight we ate at the Bonefish Grill in Glen Allen for the first time. The food was delicious and the service was excellent. I had the pork tenderloin and my wife had the rainbow trout. For dessert, we had the chocolate lava cake with strawberries and whipped cream--it was incredible. We had a great experience and will definitely be going back.“
“I go to JJ‘s occasionally as I don’t live in Richmond. I join the trivia nights on Wednesday with friends when I am in town. I love the atmosphere, and the service is great! They also customize the menu for me as I’m a vegan.Vegetarian options: There may be some vegetarian options, but there are no vegan options. You have to customize something to get it without dairy.“
“Came in from out of town and a friend suggested I come here, was not disappointed. Ordered the east coast burger with fries and a blueberry mojito. The burger was cooked right, ingredients tasted fresh, most places see fries as an afterthought but here they were freshly cut and had some kind of seasoning on them tasted great. And I had never had a mojito made with blueberry simple syrup before but I'd highly recommend trying it.“
“We have been a few times and this is my favorite "high end" steakhouse by far. The service is always excellent, the steaks are perfect and dessrts too. The sides aren't boring like other places. And Sunday Brunch is fabulous. Try this place, worth every penny.“
“The owners are super nice and accommodating, they explain each dish in detail. The food is made to order and super fresh, and came out fast. The food is absolutely amazing, will definitely be back when I’m in the area. The dining area is extremely clean and spacious!“
“Dinner at Alewife was the highlight of our five-day visit to Richmond. First off, it was a relief to get out of downtown Richmond with its huge empty parking lots, boarded up storefronts and deserted streets. The historic Church Hill section, with its 19th century row and other houses and interesting looking restaurants and shops, was such a pleasant change. Parking near Alewife was a bit of a challenge, but we quickly found a spot just a block away. The restaurant itself has a fascinating vibe, part friendly neighborhood spot and part disarmingly upmarket dining room. You just knew the food would be interesting, and it was. We started with a gin and tonic and a non-alcoholic beer. The menu is fairly short and apparently changes nightly, or at least frequently.I would never in this world think that I would enjoy an appetizer of raw oysters, bright green pickle juice, creme fraiche and fresh dill. But it was an amazing flavor combination. My partner's appetizer was equally interesting -- lox on thick, toasted rustic bread. As mains, we had the arctic char, with grilled carrots, and the skate, both perfectly prepared and delicious. Service throughout the meal was just right -- friendly, attentive but not overly so. Our charge for two, including tip, was around $150, well worth the price. Thank you for a great meal experience!“
“We sat at the bar and the bar staff was both attentive and entertaining. The food was good, but mildly less than impressive in the price range. It was a relaxing meal to end a long day and if I go back, it would be with a much better appetite to enjoy the menu.“
“We came here for happy hour and I could taste that they used a good tequila in the margarita it was so good. I was going to get the firecracker shrimp but they had some Reuben sandwiches left from Saint Patties Day so we both had them and we weren’t disappointed! It came on marbled bread and the corned beef was sweet and tender with no gristle. Shout out to Brendan and DeAndre for excellent service! It was my BFF’s birthday dinner and they sent over a yummy chocolate cake for her. Thank you. Also, shout out to the chef as she really knows how to cook corned beef — it really was delectable.Edited to add that the beet tower with goat cheese was awesome!“
“Absolutely fantastic! Tacos were exceptional. The Verde sauce on the chicken enchiladas was so flavorful. The flan we had for dessert was incredible. Combination of such wonderful food and margaritas with great service made perhaps the best meal I've ever had at a Mexican restaurant.“
“Most tender Cowboy Cut Ribeye I've ever had... My wife had the Medallions with Lump Crap, beautiful portions, perfect cook temps!! My Caesar salad was perfect with several anchovies served on top. For dessert I had the cheesecake, wife had the coffee and chocolate cake. Wonderful evening!!“
“Ok. So I ordered our door dash. I was not disappointed. I called the restaurant to confirm there menu is halal. I had the meat lovers pizza and club sandwiche. It was so good. I was not expecting it to be as good as it was. I wish I knew about this place when I was pregnant“
“Went twice this week. First visit was excellent with great service. They rolled out the guacamole cart and made it right in front of us. Food was very good and reasonably priced. The second visit had slow service, no guacamole cart. The food was still good. The Mojito was very good.“
“We had our daughter’s 1st birthday party here after having to change the venue last minute due to weather. We reached out and they were able to accommodate our large party (30 people) which we are extremely grateful for. All of the staff were very welcoming from the time we walked in the door until we left. Abby and Corey made our experience here absolutely wonderful. The food and drinks were so good and it definitely helped that there was a little something for everyone!“
“Excellent place to eat, I really like the service, Tara was super great, her service was excellent, they should have more staff like her, she gave us an excellent recommendation and was very friendly, the food was very delicious, the bread they offer is super fresh and the lobster tail was very delicious“
“We have been dining here since they opened many, many years ago. The reason is because the food is always authentic and freshly made, the price is always good and the staff do a great job to make you comfortable. My wife and I are eating here again this Sunday for our 39th wedding anniversary. We have made this our go to place for many of our Birthdays and anniversaries. Thanks for the memories!“
“Visiting for a few days from NYC and came here for happy hour which is 4-7. My experience was perfect from start to finish. My server was so friendly and the decor inside was very fun and inviting. I ordered the tipsy gumbo and fried shrimp. While I was waiting I heard some ladies at the bar giving rave reviews of their food to the chef, which got me excited. Sure enough, the food was nothing short of spectacular. The gumbo was packed with spices and amazing flavor. The fried shrimp was next level—so crunchy yet so meaty and juicy on the inside. The sauce was a heavenly blend of sweet and a tinge of spicy. It was so good I had to get a second order. Chef said they’re working on producing the sauce for sale and I will definitely be buying it when it comes out.“
“This was my cousin and my first time here and everything from entering the building to the ease of ordering was spectacular! We did have some recommendation’s from Chef Kristi on some wine pairings and they did not disappoint! We tried the GRECHETTO, which is a white wine and for my girlies and guys who love Sauvignon blanc or Pinot Grigio, you will love this!! We also tried the PINOT NERO and this was a hit!! I’m a red wine drinker and this was so smooth and full of flavor! We had the fried homemade mozzarella and the Parmesan risotto fries to start (thanks Chef) and they were perfect!! I ordered the Pappardelle with Sausage Ragu and instead of the salad I had the Pancetta and onion soup! The consistency, the flavor, the temperature of the soup, all perfect! The pasta was so fresh, the sausage had an amazing taste and the sauce was perfect! My cousin ordered the chicken Alfredo Alfredo and the chicken was seasoned perfectly!! The sauce to pasta ratio was spot on!! For dessert we had the limoncello marscapone cake and yall… the freshest, most moist slice of cake I’ve ever had! The flavor of the lemon was not too overpowering and it did not stand a chance on that table! 10/10 recommend!!“
“OMG. SUCH A NICE GUY. EVEN WHEN HE IS CLOSED HE WILL.COME OPEN UP FOR ME. AND THE CRABS ARE DYNAMITE!!! SO SO GOOD DELICIOUS. REALLY NICE PEOPLE. PRICE GREAT. HE EVEN THROW IN EXTRAS ! MY CLIENT LOVES THEM TOO. HE SAY THEY ARE REALLY REALLY GOOD!Parking: Not too bad. Only if alot of people don't come at one time. But I never had a problem parking“
“Would give them 100 ⭐️'s! This is an absolute hidden gem in the city of Richmond. We stopped in before heading to a show at Altria. Not big, ting place, but we squeezed in at the bar and made bar buddies with the couple sitting next to us since we were bumping elbows. I ordered the Oyster Mushroom meal, and it was one of the most amazing dishes I've ever eaten. Didn't even know you could make it into a full meal. My buddy got fresh made sausage, which he gave me a bite of, and it was incredible as well. If you want some top of line Italian food and not the normal stuff, you need to try Dinamo!“
“Don't be deceived by the simple decor. The food is excellent! We both had tilefish entree. Fresh and well prepared, sitting atop a nice size bed of braised veggies. I'd requested lo sodium. And voila! That's exactly what i received. Friendly service. Prices reasonable. Highly recommended.“
“A take-out restaurant for sandwiches and salads. Run by an elderly Asian couple. I was there at 2p and got a classic club sandwich (split in 4 corners and delicious ?), and I even saw a park bench for sale inside. I had a similar one at home and wanted to make a pair, so I also bought a great park bench that the man got from his friend in Poland! Will come again soon.“
“Lynelle made my sons 15th birthday INCREDIBLE. We had a horrible experience at a different restaurant before even getting sat which luckily led us to her table at Firebirds. The customer service AND food were beyond incredible and the signed birthday card was ABOVE and beyond. Thank you so much for making us feel special!!!!“
“Amazing service! The food cooked really fast for 4 people. My Texana Quesadilla was stuffed with meat and it was filling and delicious!? This restaurant is a wonderful place to go to when in Ashland!Parking: Has handicap parking and plenty of non-handicap parking available“
“This review is all about the food. While the staff were friendly and the dining area was quaint, there is no better lunch time food experience than here. Everything they make is outstanding! Best lunch time chicken experience by far! Would recommend for a great, not-break-the-bank get more than you'd expect experience. Portions were outstanding, side were scrumptious and the Peruvian charcoal fired chicken? Muey sabroso! Delicioso! In Ashland? Give this place a try....“
“Many have already said it, but this is kind of one of those hidden gems. Never really busy inside, but definitely always busy for takeout and delivery service orders. This isn't like a fancy date night kinda place, but it's definitely a place for a great meal when not worried about the ambiance. It's a rather open place with the seating being right by the sushi bar and open to the entrance all in one view, and there is like another section of the restaurant behind that wall, but I think they only use it if busy/full it seems. Service is okay and pretty typical for what you get at most hibachi style restaurants, which is not personable but just checklist style. I'm okay with it though as long as it's attentive and my drink isn't empty, so no worries because this spot is intimate enough to be checked on and constantly see your server. Sushi here is fresh and delish. This time I ordered just a spider roll as an appetizer, but have had the pleasure of trying many different sushi options here before. Definitely a good choice to try something. I really like their hibachi, despite them not having a grill where you get the show and it's cooked in front of you. Honestly, sometimes (most times) I don't want the show and just want to eat lol so I actually like that I get my food in about 20 mins! The only things I wish they would change is to cut the veggies more and bring out yum yum and/or ginger sauce without having to ask for it. Either way food is great. I've also ordered takeout during lunch and prices are great and portions are decent. I always appreciate consistency between lunch and dinner and dine in vs takeout for a restaurant, and they are consistent regardless of how you dine. I like that it's kinda low key in the cut and never packed and pretty intimate for a quick hibachi or sushi dinner!“
“We had a lovely Easter brunch outside on the front patio. Service was very friendly and welcoming. Easy to check in to our reservation and they were able to accommodate our request to sit outside. Kids menu worked well for our 2 children (4&6) and my husband and I loved the grouper sandwich. Great experience and lovely setting.“
“I just visited today after being referred by a friend. I had the fish, shrimp, chicken and fries. Absolutely a hidden gem in the Chamberlayne Ave area. The exterior lacks appeal but the food quality and service makes up for it. I even tried the special seasoning and it was !“
“Seafood lovers MUST!!! I haven’t visited Ashland in over 30 years and I found this absolute jewel of a restaurant. Shrimp Boil is so wonderful I am going back to buy more to freeze and take back to Michigan. The Po Boy Cajun shrimp roll delicious with coleslaw. Sweet potato fries! The staff were so friendly. Service was fast and food hot. Alcohol is available. Parking plentiful along with other business in the strip.Parking: Shared with other businesses.Wheelchair accessibility: Accommodating Yes“
“Every bit of seafood was top notch. Crab meat was firm, lobster tail was perfectly cooked, as was the shrimp and clams. The service was especially great. The guy running the place was very attentive, and offered to tweak things a little just for our preference. He did a great job!“
“The food was excellent! I literally ordered my food on a Sunday during brunch and it came out four minutes later! I ended up getting the raspberry lemon drop and that was so good and so cute. The way the bartender made it. When I got there, there were about six other tables that were full, but there was literally no weight. The waitress was also very friendly, and they came around to make sure we were OK every 10 minutes or so which I thought was great. They also told me that on Sundays they have happy hour all day so the drinks ended up being five dollars and then the other drinks on the other side of the menu were four dollars off.“
“Great experience. Greeted by several staff members on a Friday evening. They encouraged us to speak Spanish which was fun. We were regularly checked on. The place was lovely. It’s a more modern look than the traditional Mexican restaurants. The music was great and there were large TVs playing soccer at the time. The food was awesome. Very good margaritas. I thought about it for days, wanting to go back. There’s a big seafood entree that looked yummy, not sure what it included but I want to find out!“
“Had a birthday dinner for husband with family at Stony Point location… first time there…. atmosphere and servers wonderful… seafood was awesome… did not have room for dessert but we will definitely be back! Granddaughters ate from kids menu which was very good.“
“Hands down the best steakhouse in the city! From the moment you walk in, you're greeted like family by the warm and welcoming staff. The steak? Absolutely divine – cooked to perfection every time. But what truly sets this place apart is the exceptional service, especially from our favorite server, Kim. Her attention to detail and genuine care make every visit memorable. Management goes above and beyond to ensure a first-class experience. Whether it's a special occasion or just a casual dinner, this steakhouse never disappoints. A must-visit for steak lovers!“
“I went on the weekend with my family and it was the best seafood boils we’ve had in Richmond. The works sauce medium is my top recommendation for the boil bags. The wings and fried food were really good too. They were busy, but food came out on time and service was outstanding. Highly recommend this establishment!“
“Had a night out with the Lady, it took a second to get seated, & there wasn't anywhere to wait that wasn't in the way of the wait staff, but we were seated in a nice corner section, making it very easy to hear my girlfriend, despite it being quite bustling, we had the branzino & the napolese spaghetti with squid, scallops, mussels, etc, I am finishing the leftovers now, two days later & it is still delicious. Would give 5 stars if there was a lobby or waiting area.“
“I recently dined at this restaurant and was blown away by the delicious food, impeccable service, and the wonderful waitress Tiffany. The ambiance was cozy and inviting, making it the perfect spot for a special meal out. I will definitely be returning and highly recommend it to others looking for a top-notch dining experience.“
“The food was great! Along with the customer service! I had the seafood fries, bang’n shrimp and the kids nuggets/tenders. I was late to a birthday celebration so I didn’t get to try anything fancy. Everything came out quick, with no issues. Their bathroom was super clean. I recommend trying, especially during their Thursday Happy Hour!“
“Great Jamaican food - fresh and flavorful. Even better hospitality - friendly and nice. Our family of 4 grabbed the last 4 chicken patties available that Sunday afternoon. Yummy and truly whetted our appetites. Jerk chicken and curry chicken our entrees for the day - no try goat or seafood. Got mixed sides - rice and peas. Tender chicken just melted into our mouths. Perfectly spiced too.Lady pampered us with her lovely talk about Indians in Jamaica. She kindly introduced our family to the chef and her niece owner. Lotsa to go customers. We were the only ones to eat on the bar stools. Clearly they are mostly take out.Got 2 Jamaican fruit juice bottles - ginger and the fruit medley. Kid loved it. Quite sugary though. Should have stuck just to the food. Anyways this is another addition to our must eat local list and we will definitely be back! An affordable tasty Caribbean joint.“
“We visited tonight as we recently discovered how relaxed and inviting Stony Point is. We enjoyed a charcuterie board and drinks and especially the friendly staff. As our dog was watching from the door, they offered to deliver our food outside, then went back for a carafe of water for us. Delicious food and outstanding service, next time we’ll be trying the cheesecake and coffees too.“
“The food is incredible. The server was very nice, I just wish she was a bit more professional and wrote things down, rather than yelling back to the kitchen through the main dining area--it messed with the vibe a bit, but I'd definitely return.Parking: It's a full lot, easy to park in“
“Highly recommend the Seared Salmon, the meal was a good portion where you’re full and don’t have much left over. The taste was phenomenal it was so good. My fiancé and I also got the 1/2 dozen oysters and seared scallops - Both were incredibly good! To finish the dinner we got the bread pudding with vanilla ice cream to share.“
“Ask for the back room if you like a quieter space where you can more easily have a conversation. Our server was a dream - perfectly attentive, accommodating, and polite to my aging and innocently intoxicated parents. The food ranged from good to exceptionally good. We tried a variety of surf-and-turf entrees with sides like cheesy potatoes, broccolini, and shoe string fries. Members of our party ordered steaks in every temperature - medium rare, medium well, and well done. Every steak was delicious and perfectly cooked. When the manager came to check on us later in the meal, it wasn't the typical low energy drive-by, but a genuine interest and calming presence that stayed just long enough before floating on to the next table. Kudos to this restaurant and their excellent staff.“
“A little bit of backstory: I just moved in from another state, and I needed to create a list of go to restaurants and businesses I can always count on for being good.My family is now ADDICTED to the sweet and sour shrimp and this one dish with veggies and chicken in the healthy section (which, as someone trying to watch her figure, is amazing for when I'm just too lazy to cook). For to-go orders they put the sauces on the side. It threw me off at first. We were able to save a lot of the sauces for future cooking though, so I can't be mad at it. I recommend using their versatile brown sauce for any dish you want to be savory. Those were the only two dishes that we tried as we combined our dinner that day with several restaurants to try to fill our list out, but seeing how it is so close, so good, cheap, and has nice staff? We are definitely going to go again.“
“It’s a seafood place and a convenience store so it’s a chill atmosphere. The guy working the register/tables is super nice. I got the snow crab boil and my friend got the shrimp boil with ramen. Both were great. The ramen was nice and salty because it soaked up the flavor from the rest of the boil. The snow crab was great and they do give you a metal cracker to use. I’ll definitely come again. For parking, there’s street parking and a parking lot that’s very close.“
“I live Yoshi Sushi! They have always given me great service and very tasty food. I worked with sushi restaurants for about 10 years and I can say that the quality is great for the price. I always get the Tropical roll, it’s like dessert. The sushi rice is delicious, cooked just right. Nothing worse than sushi with overcooked rice. The foods that come from the kitchen are also great. Shrimp and veggie tempura, hibachi, and yaki soba are among my favorites.“
“I don't know why I haven't heard about this place! Just happened to pass by it after my son's doctors appointment and am glad I stopped in. I got ox tails, but man, that food was soo good make you want to slap your momma ( Friday after next reference for those in the slow seats, lol) I definitely will be coming back and encourage all my foodies to try this place at least once!“
“Atmosphere: Bright, airy, loud, great working space. Kid friendly, cleanService: attentive, friendly, quickFood: Breakfast Burrito and hot tea for $17+ was over valued. Burrito is mostly rice and was messy to eat. Would benefit from more breakfast ingredients (eggs/bacon) and a dipping sauce? Sour cream or salsa per the bean and rice style.Overall, would come back to try lunch and dinner items!“
“Definitely for takeout, not for dining in. So far it’s had the best Chinese food of any restaurant I’ve tried in this area. The pork fried rice has the tasty chopped pork I expect to get instead of the little stringy brown pieces that many Chinese restaurants are using now. However, it lacked flavor. The beef with vegetables has very tender pieces of meat, and the vegetables taste very fresh. It’s very good, but needs a bit more brown sauce. The boneless barbecued pork has wonderful flavor but too many pieces with gristle, so I don’t recommend it. Overall, I’ve had two good experiences with Tings’s so far, and I will be ordering from them again.“
“The price for an order of birria tacos is pro-founding!!! Not only are they delicious but they come in a hefty portion. The service, phenomenal! I forgot to ask for their name, but they were so patient and kind. I will definitely come back here!“
“My hubby and I stumbled upon this gem after seeing a reel on IG, and boy, were we glad we did! We found the restaurant jumping - almost every seat taken. But luck was on our side, and we snagged a spot thanks to a last-minute cancellation. The owner, a real charmer, welcomed us in like old pals. Our server, MJ, was on point, making sure we had everything we needed with a smile. The vibe? Think warm and inviting, like dining at a friend's place. Now, onto the grub. Freshness was the name of the game here - from the herby oil to the salad and bread that hit the table. Hubby went for the Salmon Capricio, and I dove into the fettuccine Alfredo with shrimp. Minor gripe - my shrimp was a tad overdone, but the flavors were still top-notch. Oh, and let's not forget the fried mozzarella - crispy, gooey perfection. Long story short, this place is a winner. Despite the shrimp snafu, the stellar service, cozy atmosphere, and downright delicious food have us planning our next visit already. Count us in as regulars - we can't wait to come back for more!“
