“Very good food! Served pretty quickly, too! Definitely will be back.Vegetarian options: Tofu and veggie options. I always get #22, the rice vermicelli bowl with egg rolls and tofu. It's delicious!Parking: Smallish parking lot, but never a problem finding a spot right outside the door.Wheelchair accessibility: It's ground level, directly from the parking lot.“
“Charming little place with only eleven tables. I have been wanting to try their pho since the reviews were so positive. Came at 1:30 PM on a Friday, there were three parties in front of us already been waiting. We were seated in 10 minutes. The owner/waiter was very friendly and efficient. He seems to know most of his customers by name. The place is very unique with interesting decorations. Unfortunately I am not a fan of their food. The pho broth lacked the strong flavors of beef bones being cooked for hours. Grilled Pork over Rice and Grilled Beef over Rice was OK, nothing special. From the look of it, I was really hoping that this could be my go to place for Pho, but it will not be.Please note that this is a CASH Only business and they are closed on Wednesdays. They close at 5 PM expect Sunday at 4 PM. I applaud that the owners are making time for themselves besides running a successful business.Parking: We had to park off the street.Wheelchair accessibility: There are stairs lead to the front entrance. There is no wheelchair ramp.“
“The OG craft beer bar to hang out, meet other cool people and let loose in Richmond. Still the king! RVA is lucky to have The Answer Brewpub and Mekong. An is the man. Come drink great beer, eat tasty food and play pinball with me and other beer nerds!“
“Pho So 1 is a Richmond staple for a reason. Great food, reasonable prices, vegetarian/vegan friendly. I’ve probably eaten here a dozen times and I’ve never had anything I didn’t enjoy!Vegetarian options: The vegetarian pho is amazing, but my favorite thing on the menu is the grilled tofu over broken rice“
“As the menu states, "It's Pho King Good!!" Don't judge a book by its cover. The bldg doesn't look the best, but the food, service, and cleanliness were top notch!! Definitely going to be coming back next time I'm nearby.“
“My fave pho spot in Richmond, very chill and always fast, very good broth. Good beer selection. Used to be into pho so 1, then I was into pho tay do, now it’s tay ho. They are all good, but the broth here is distinct and I have decided is my latest fave.“
“I was very happy with my experience here! I ordered the chicken pho with dark meat & it was delicious, although i did feel the chicken portions could've been a bit better. The atmosphere was very cozy and the service was solid. Definitely keeping this place in mind whenever my pho cravings kick in!“
“Historically Pho So 1 (now Pho Thien Phat) was the best spot for pho in the RVA area. Now with additions of Pho Tay Do and improvements to the pho at Vietnam 1 over the years, this place has some alternatives but this place remains a go-to.Unfortunately with the rise in prices, I no longer think of pho as a relatively cheap and tasty way to get a less dense type of meal. Now, I think of the value of pho as pretty poor and go only when I'm really craving the taste since I know getting Thai or Chinese offers much more mass/protein for the money. That or it's the lack of solid ingredients, including the amt of protein, that I'm getting when I eat here in particular that has given me a tendency to no longer eat pho as much as I used to.“
“I have dined at other Phô stands in RVA, but none has the colorful setting or genuinely excited staff like this place. Both the phô and Bahm Mi were fresh and wonderful. The ambience and food together combined to make this an experience - more than just a bowl of noodles. Highest recommendation.“
“After searching high and low for a restaurant that served vegetarian pho with vegetable broth (it's more rare than you would think) we finally found one - and a good one at that! The pho is great! I loved the P1: Pho Dac Biet and my partner really enjoyed P9: Hu Tieu Dau Hu (vegetarian version of the dish). The staff was very nice and attentive, and the restaurant itself was very clean. We will be back again!Vegetarian options: Vegetarian Pho (with vegetable broth) is available and it's great!Dietary restrictions: Gluten free available upon request. The menu also state which dishes contain nuts for those with allergies.“
“I’ve eaten here on and off over the past decade. Now that I moved to RVA permanently, it’s typically my go-to since I like to shop at Tan A for convenience. I feel like the food has declined some over the years and has less punch to the spices and sauces. The portions have gotten smaller but that’s pretty expected nowadays. I do see that there are less Asian people eating there so maybe that’s why the taste has changed… lol. Not a lot of other decent competition though, so I can’t complain too much since there’s no Eden center here.“
“As we approached the heart of Richmond, our first stop was Mekong Restaurant to indulge in some delightful cuisine. With its exceptionally high ratings and thousands of reviews, it seemed everyone had something positive to say about this eatery. And rightfully so, the food was simply delicious, with each dish receiving glowing recommendations. Of course, I must echo the sentiment and highly recommend their Vietnamese pho!“
“Oyster mushrooms with Bun Bo Hue was very tasty. My family also enjoyed brown spring rolls and golden rolls. My son ordered a mildly spicy soup-like dish with beef, pork and lemongrass in it. He thought it had many large pieces of onion in it, otherwise he would have liked it more. Atmosphere and decor was nice. Service was fast.“
“One of the best banh mis I have ever had. I tried the number 1 (combination cold cut). The bread was crisp, the veggies had the right amount of pickling, and there was the perfect amount of spice to it. Extremely affordable as well. We also got the shrimp chips, which are always good. This will definitely be my new go-to.“
“OH! MY! GOODNESS!!! We just happened to find this little slice of Pho deliciousness and SO GLAD we decided to have dinner. Each item we ordered had ALL THE FLAVORS! We had a pho dish and a rice fish, fried wontons and boba teas. THE SERVICE WAS EXCELLENT as well! Our dinner filled our bellies and warmed our souls. THANK YOU“
“This place is really good! The pho was tasty and the portion was big. I highly recommend the fried rice with chicken, the rice has crispy bits and I think seaweed which adds flavor. The service was great and they quickly refilled our waters. Come here!“
“Delicious find! We could smell the broth from outside and came in to check it out. We thoroughly enjoyed our meal. We shared a spring roll appetizer and the peanut sauce was very tasty and flavorful. We had a number 3 pho with meatballs and number 12 pho with rare steak and brisket. For drinks, we orderes the mango green tea and pineapple green tea; the pineapple had crushed pineapple in it. We would highly recommend checking this place out!“
“This food and atmosphere was the bomb! Visiting from Philly where there are tons of amazing Vietnamese across the city and this place beats out most! A nice little surprise while on vacation. The decor and vibes felt great and made it feel cozy. Some of the best Pho I’ve had and the accompaniments on the side went well beyond just Sriracha and hoisin sauce. Dont sleep on the Bahn Mi either. If you’re in the area looking for a bite to warm your soul with an old school vibe stop on by“
