I wasn’t able to go home for the holidays during the height of covid and Ms. Cherry made sure I had a home cooked Christmas dinner. I ordered a small dressing but she gave me a large anyway. I’ll never forget that. Thanks so much for providing comfort during a difficult time!

I know they cooking with love !!!!!!!!Edit to add: I made this original review back in early 2022 after I had eaten there for over half a year consistently. We’re now in early 2023 and I want to reinstate/reinforce/reaffirm this is still the BEST SOULFOOD RESTAURANT ON THIS SIDE OF THE WATER, I’d argue in all of Hampton Roads but there’s still a few soul food spots I haven’t tried on the other side of the water.

The food is absolutely delicious!! This is a strictly to-go restaurant so please note my review is based solely on the food and service. When I called to place my order, the young lady told me before I ordered it would be an hour wait. I really appreciated that so I could plan accordingly. After taking my order, she gave me my total, order number, and asked for the color and make of my vehicle. When I arrived, a young lady came out to my car (I may have waited a minute) and I told her my order number and paid. She told me she would bring my order out once it was finished. I saw a sign for online ordering so I asked the young lady, and she said to add ~15-20 minutes to the time quoted online for orders for processing times. I waited approximately 5 minutes and she brought out my order. Thought my food was wrapped up very well, I could smell the food and felt the steam from the bag!!This food was just amazing!!! The candied yams were the star of the meal with the baked macaroni and cheese coming in a close second. The yams tasted like the filing of a sweet potato pie - oh my!! They give you this small piece of cornbread, but you honestly don't need more than that. The collards were decent; next time I'll try the cabbage. The catfish was good, but I try another meat, perhaps the wings. I split the food into two meals because they give you great portions.The food is so worth the wait!!!

I ordered two dinners, fried pork chops and fish/shrimp. Our sides were mac&cheese, cabbage, potato salad, and green beans. Everything we had was on point, to include the corn bread! We picked up from the downtown Norfork location. I would definitely recommend ?. One ? held for wait time.

First time ordering Cherry-O’s since I pass by it everyday and I was not disappointed. The yams are sweet and yummy. The Mac and cheese is creamy and the baked beans were flavorful. The portions are big and i got full on those alone. The whiting and fried shrimp were decent. I’ll definitely order again and hopefully will have the same experience (:

First time ordering. I ordered through door dash. I didn’t receive my collards and that is really what I wanted. Had to get refund through door dash. Pork chops smothered with gravy and onions and mushrooms are very good. Bake beans was excellent. Disappointed in the macaroni and cheese as well as the cornbread. I preordered before business open so was really hoping everything was going to be fresh

So don't get me wrong the food be good ..but never in my 34 years have I seen a restaurant take so long to prepare orders ..normally it takes over a hour which I normally don't mind cause the food is good ...you have enough time to take a nap And then eat but today .. they trippen ..it is after 4 and i ordered at 2 .. And it's still being cooked unless yall skined the pig for my porkchop.. like that's ridiculous..I done took a nap woke up ..inquired about my order .. and finally now ad I write this review ... my order is done ..2 hrs later .. get it together cherry o... ain't nobody got time for this..

100/100 I just chicken wing dinner with Mac and yams !! It came with cornbread I haven’t tried the cornbread yet but everything else bomb !!!!!!!!! Fresh and hot was about 14 dollars and the trays are packed full they weren’t stingy with the food at all great customer service the young lady’s were respectful and sweet love black business ! I love our people hope you guys put this place everywhere thank you❤️

They stop taking orders 2 hours before they closed and only open on weekends. Then act like they can’t take a simple order and complaining about they are almost out of food which is ridiculous because THERE ONLY OPEN ON WEEKENDS. Then had a nerve to say I shoulda called earlier and I work 7 days a week. Horrible customer service. I spend money with them every week and it’s always hour or 2 wait which by now they should have learn how to work there business. They lost a outstanding customer and will lose more. Just doesn’t make since. And the cake is nasty. The macaroni taste like stouffer‘s Mac and cheese and not homemade at all. ???????????? Never again!!!!

I ordered from here for the 1st time and i was not impressed. the person on the phone said rice wasnt included so i ordered a side of rice and gravy only to find my liver and way to many onions was smothering the rice they said it didnt come with. so i spent extra money for no reason. the side of rice and gravy had a burnt smell to it. and the liver and onions tasted bland. it was edible but nothing i will spend my money on again. i recommend go at your own risk.

It pains me to rate this restaurant this low. When we first started ordering food there the food was amazingly delicious. Then something change the Macaroni and cheese, collard greens and other sides didn’t taste the same actually was awful. The fish on the other hand was fried right and delicious. Not sure at this time if we will ever go back.

Ok I never rate an experience on my first time I go a few times and then give an overall rating. My first time here was last week on Saturday June 11/12 and the food was exceptional i had a little issue with how some thing was cooked and their response and rectification of the matter exceeded my wishes. I originally wanted ribs but they told me they don’t have ribs all the time ( definitely respect that) but said they would be doing a barbecue on Father’s Day and that they would have ribs then. Today is Father’s Day 2022 I arrived at the establishment at 11:00 am told they didn’t open until 12:00. Waited in the parking lot in front of the door until 12:00 I notice people walking about including the wait staff and at about 12:15 I stopped one and said hey I been waiting outside for someone to take my order since that’s how it was done last week there is an option to call the phone but I’m RIGHT THERE so I dialed the number and told them hey I been sitting outside I wanted to place order for food she told me 45 minutes to an hour there are orders ahead of mine like how when I was first. I exclaimed on the phone “bih YALL got me f’d up and hung up I left immediately after before the “PHILLY “ in me came out and I would have handled the disrespect accordingly … I will never go there again they do not deserve my money
