I’ve eaten at a handful of Indian restaurants but this place has been the best food venture of my life. Polite server, atmosphere pleasant and the food delicious. I’m Mexican but I can tell you Indian food is where flavor is born. They know their spices. Whether it is meat, vegetarian or vegan the aroma is just delightful.Edit: they have the best garlic naan I’ve ever tastedVegetarian options: Very well outlined on the menu

This place is fantastic. I highly recommend the lamb tikki masala. They do an excellent job with their spice levels. Highly satisfactory and nothing to complain about!

My family has been coming here for years. The family that own it is Nepalese, so there are a few Nepalese dishes, like momo dumplings. This most recent time we ordered takeout through DoorDash. Really great butter chicken, pakora, papadums, mango chutney, and naan. Didn’t love the tikka masala or channa masala. And all the curries come with rice! Something we didn’t realise, so we ordered extra. It’s solidly good at good prices, which is why we keep coming back.Vegetarian options: Lots of good vegetarian optionsDietary restrictions: Good vegetarian and gf optionsParking: There is a free parking lot across the street

I have driven 120 miles round-trip SEVERAL TIMES to have this food from Indian American Cafe. No one else even comes close. I would eat their AMAZING CHICKEN SAAG and SAMOSAS and NAAN. The owners are so sweet and servers are great too! This is the most underrated restaurant on the planet. I’ve been eating here for 20 years and I’ll never stop until it’s time to go be with our Lord in Heaven.

The best restaurant in the City of Harrisonburg! Everything is so thoughtfully prepared and made with a well-balance of spice and fresh ingredients. The salads are wonderfully fresh. The appetizers come out quick, nicely portioned and very tasty, especially the chicken chilly. All of the entrees we have tried are fantastic. My favorite is actually the vegetable chow mein! It’s better than any Chinese version. And the desserts are a perfect way to end the experience, not too rich or heavy at all. Price is right and the portions are generous. 5-courses per person comes out around $30. Just a delightful dinner every time.

I've been wanting to try this place for a while and I'm glad I did. Their spice level was inconsistent as I asked for no spice for my Butter Chicken and it was pretty spicy in my opinion. They give you a nice portion of rice with your entree and the portion sizes are decent. Their samosas are HUGE so it's a great appetizer as a meal if you want.

Hands-down our favorite Indian restaurant in Harrisonburg. It's Indian with a Nepalese flair. The owners are very friendly and great chefs. The samosa chaat is soooo good.A few notes.- The service is slow, but worth it and the wait staff is very helpful. In the evening plan for a bit longer. Lunch *typically* is quicker.- The portions are large, we always have enough for a second meal. You'll have to request extra rice if you need it to match the amount of curry provided. We just make a batch of rice at home for our leftover curries.- The ambience is very much like a diner. It's almost always not too full, except weekend nights. They do have lots of takeout people going in and out, but it doesn't have an impact on the dining experience. We personally prefer a quieter dining experience which is partially why we keep coming back.Parking: I like to park on the Mason St parking deck and walk down to the restaurant. Parking downtown is always a little obnoxious to me.

Food was very good. 5/5 for the chef. Please be aware - if you ask for spicy food, you really get spicy food. Indian spicy. The hostess & waiters & waitresses could be a little more friendlier to the customers. They need to be more welcoming. I went there to pick up my food - stood at the entrance for a while. The waitresses went past 2-3 times - she did not even bother to direct me or ask me what I am there for.

We just stopped in here for takeout on our way back to northern Virginia, but BOY am I happy we did! They have great vegan options, and I was even able to enjoy some pakora, which are made with chickpea flour and therefore grain-free, and unfortunately I can't eat grains or animal products for now. The muttar aloo, the pakora, and the vegetable biryani (according to my fiance & how it smelled) are all fantastic, and I've been to Indian and grown up on Indian food— despite my current restrictions, or maybe because of them, I know when something is made well. Even the peas were fresh rather than canned, and the vegetable biryani had so many flavorful touches. If we lived in town, we'd certainly be back!
