I booked a room at this property and stayed here in early July. Was pleased with my accommodations. Returned on July 19, booking through Hotel.com. Upon arrival, I was assigned a room that I found smelled like a dog kennel, and noticed both beds were attached to the wall at in a manner that placed the head lower than the foot of the bed. The corridor outside the room was flooded, but passable. I returned to the front desk to advise the room I had been assigned is unacceptable, not fit for human habitation. I was given a room key to the room directly next to the first. I proceeded to that room, to find the odor equally similar to a kennel, and actually cut my leg on the bedframe that extended beyond the foot of the bed into the room. I returned to the front desk and was advised the only other room I could be assigned was upstairs, at substantially higher cost. I declined that offer and advised I would continue to Staunton, Va and would not be paying for a room which was not fit for people who did not own the dog they were boarding with. He indicated that he would take care of the cancellation. He did not. I phoned Hotel.com when I discovered I'd been charged for the room I did not use, and I telephoned the Clarion desk and reiterated the above sequence of events. I was told that it was not uncommon for arriving guests to reject these "pet friendly" rooms upon arrival and experiencing the powerful smell of dog. I was told that the manager would have to intervene to advise Hotel.com that the charges placed against my account should be cancelled. Hotel.com sent me a text message advising the hotel had refused to cancel the charges and it was beyond their capacity to intervene. My message to all who consider this property, don't do business with unscrupulous people who don't have the integrity to be truthful or maintain their property in a manner fit for human habitation. This place literally stinks.

No issues at all. Clean, quiet, nice pool and breakfast. Staff were exceptionally friendly and helpful. There is no elevator to the second level, but fortunately there were first floor rooms available. Several things to mention, the breakfast offers waffles, fruit, yogurt, real scrambled eggs, ham, sausage and more. The entire property is clean and updated, TVs are big, and the beds are Heavenly comfortable- we will definitely return.

Nice place, good breakfast. Very nice staff. Would highly recommend. Word of advice, do NOT stay at Days inn across the street, Awful smell in smoking and non smoking buildings with holes in the walls. Very rude staff.

Absolutely horrendous. Staff sent me away after charging full room fee. Told me refund for cancellation takes 7-21 business days. Charged me FULL price for the room just to tell me I could not stay. Took them 30 mins to acknowledge I was at the counter. The male manager never spoke a word, to busy on his video game in the back room it seemed. Don’t stay here, they may turn you away last minute due to their hospitality.

The hotel recently was remodeled. Beds were very comfy, pillows were so amazing I didn’t want to get up, shower pressure was outstanding. Very friendly staff, helpful, and free breakfast had so many options I couldn’t believe it was free! Pool was recently redone so it wasn’t warm enough for us to get in plus the weather wasn’t great at the time of our stay. We were very pleased with our stay.

We arrived to a very nice front desk person. Our room was clean and comfortable. We were on the courtyard side. The beds and pillows were very good. The bathroom is small if you like big baths. We were fine with it. Breakfast was good ( minus the lady) . Other places offer a bit more but it was fine for our reasonable price. Our only complaint would be that the hall door banged as people went through it. We stayed when the hotel was not busy ( off travel season) so keep that in mind. Also we thought the pool would be open and it wasn't. Being after Memorial day it should be. It's beautiful by the pool if you stay when it's open. Taking the negatives in mind regarding when you travel, it was a great place to spend the night.

Great little hotel! Nothing fancy but clean, quiet and a great deal. Located in a convenient area next to 81 and minutes to downtown Harrisonburg. Nice breakfast too with waffles for the kiddos. Would recommend to anyone staying for a long weekend!

We settled on this hotel upon reading reviews of many hotels, both 2 and 3 stars places. We decided to stay at a 3 stars because the difference in cleanliness and calmness (many 2 stars and some 3s had complains about thin walls and noise.) The Clarion Pointe doesn't disappoint and we're more than happy to have chosen this one. Like other have commented, the location makes it easy to go out and have dinner, or stock up at Walmart before continuing a road trip. Checkout was seamless, the reception is clean and so was the room. Very comfy beds, shower was clean and water pressure perfect, and we appreciated the microwave and small fridge. Decent amount of channels to please everyone. In the lobby, there is complimentary 24/7 coffee (decaf and reg) and teas (simple black regular and decaf + 3 sorts of flavored Bigalow.) There are also two fridges of drinks and microwavable meals, available for purchase. You can also purchase beers and wine at the reception. Employees are all very nice, and shoot out to the lady taking care of the constant breakfast restocking in the morning. As for the breakfast, here's what it consist of, might be helpful to decide on which hotel you want to stay :) - 4 types of juice - 3 brands of cold cereals - Flavored and unflavored individual oatmeal pouches and individual grit pouches - Different toppings to garnish your meal (chocolate chips, pieces of almonds, candy, raisins, etc) as well as brown sugar, cinnamon and Chia seeds - Bananas - 2 flavors or Yoplait individual yogurts - Hot scrambled eggs, breakfast muffins, ham slices and small sausages. - Pancakes maker - All sorts of condiments and syrup Lastly, I tried the 24/7 gym and it's pretty decent to be honest. Free weights + bench, which not every hotel has, and three cardio machines. Unfortunately the elliptical stops your workout as soon as you slow down. That's a bummer because it's great to vary between frontward and backward. Threadmill worked perfectly, but didn't try the bike. TVs all weren't working at the time of our visit. Laundry room is such a plus if you're traveling on a road trip for several weeks/months! $1.50 per normal wash, same for dryer.

Stayed at this hotel on the way to Pigeon Forge, TN on a bus tour. Easy on and off Rt. 81. Clean, comfortable rooms, great shower and products. Mini Keurig in room with pods. Decent breakfast. Beer and wine for sale at desk at reasonable price. Would stay again.

Because it was homecoming prices were exorbitant, probably triple the usual rate, which was definitely very pricey for a middle of the road hotel. The room was clean and comfortable but very dated and darkly furnished. There is no elevator so we had to carry our luggage up steps and down long confusing hallways. My biggest disappointment was with the front desk staff. We had called earlier in the week and requested an early check in and knew that it might not have been possible but nevertheless asked for one. Upon arrival at 2:00 we were very curtly greeted by the staff and denied any possibility of check-in. The staff were not friendly, did not present a professional appearance and refused to even check to see if there was a possibility of helping us. This was very disappointing. Breakfast was served by a very nice lady who worked very hard to make sure there was plenty of food available for everyone and that the hot food was always filled. Not a great selection but at leases there was something to nibble on. I will not be selecting this hotel again when traveling to Harrisonburg. I am sure there are better options.

We have been staying in hotels for 2 weeks and this Clarion had the most comfortable bed with a great mattress and good pillows. The suite was well designed with a good couch (not a saggy one that' s hard to get off of) and the tub has a jacuzzi. While some hotels cut back on towels with only one set per person, this hotel provided extras. The hotel was quiet. Breakfast was fine. If you can't carry your luggage upstairs, be sure you ask for a room with easy access as not all of the rooms are accessible by elevator. The gentleman at the front desk was efficient and friendly, accommodating a room switch due to reaction to cleaning supply odors. A good price for the quality of the room.
