By far my favorite spot in downtown Harrisonburg, not only do they have the best cheesesteaks outside of Philly but they have the best service out of any restaurant I’ve been too. The bartender McKenzie is an absolute rockstar and always makes me feel extremely welcome. The owner Tommy is also an amazing guy, when you talk to him you feel like you’ve known him forever. 10/10

Man I just love me some Urgies Cheesesteaks. The food is great and the drinks go dummy, and one of the workers there, Landon, always makes it a good time. He always brings the energy and makes sure everyone is enjoying themselves!

This place is a nice spot to have in Harrisonburg. I love the expanded inside that they opened in 2023. The bar service is great, it can get packed on weekends so slower but it’s understandable. Landon is the best bartender ever! Whatever he puts in the Trashcans gets the job done. What a guy! I could go on and on. He a little crazy though.

Driving back from visiting friends further up on the east coast, and there was almost nothing available right by the interstate. Given an urge for cheesesteaks or grinders that I didn't have a chance to get back up north, I found this place Urgies selling cheesesteaks, and honestly, what convinced me to give it a chance was the Philadelphia Eagles jersey on their website.Fantastic little college bar (so don't expect much room), and parking can be weird, but the food was legit (they offered cheese whiz) and offered all the toppings. Definitely recommend it if you want a legit cheesesteak sandwich. Even the day before St. Patrick's, it was easy to get into and find a spot to eat, and service was quick and friendly, though the check out was a little protracted since the hand held checkout asked several questions before finishing the transaction.
The bartender was too busy paying attention to another couple from Philly, That he didn’t get our complete order. My husband didn’t get the correct order. Our order didn’t all come out at the same time. And took forever to come out. The food was just ok.

This place SUCKS. Friday late afternoon, not busy. But took over an hour to get food ordered and beer. Food = terrible. 2nd round of beer stood in line >15 min (3 people in front of me) before leaving. Good luck.

Granted, I came at 9pm at night on a Sunday, but bc it was empty I had a seat and placed my order in a second. But my sub took 20 minutes and arrived not hot and very underwhelming. The beef was not well chopped, the cheese barely melted and the onions only lightly sautéed, and tots scorched. As a weary traveler just wanting a hot melty meal this was not that. But looked fun as a local watering hole.
