This is Sushi Umi located in Herndon, VA. It's a great Japanese restaurant that has great food and sushi. The setting is super cute and the service was great. My waitress was really nice and attentive. She always made sure that I had everything I needed. The star of the show is the "Taste of Umi" which allows you to taste several dishes. My favorites were the eel and the fish roe!!! Just when I thought the meal was over, the chef gave me an extra piece on the house!!! It was a lovely tuna bite. Check it out if you have some time.

This is the only sushi place I will be returning to and the only place worth giving five stars to due to their exemplary service, refilling our waters and tea at perfect intervals, quiet and relaxing ambiance, clean restaurant, high quality sushi and fresh fish.

NOT VEGAN, VEGETARIAN, OR ALERGY FRIENDLYOrdered 4 rolls and put special instructions for 2 of the 4 to be kept separately because they were supposed to be vegetarian. They ignored the request and put them with the others. We then went back and got a replacement order after telling them about their mistake and the new order still had fish eggs all over them.Edit:They did provide a refund for the 2 vegetarian roles. I do still find it worrying that they are unable to figure out how to honor such requestsVegetarian options: Fish eggs everywhere no matter if you ask for them or notDietary restrictions: They do not honor dietary restriction requests

Very warm and cozy sushi spot with large booths. The menu offers a variety of Japanese dishes with their sushi being the main attraction. The jalapeño poppers are one of my favorite things they offer -- made in house and a fun Japanese take on the classic appetizer. Every maki I have ordered has been delicious. I've visited a handful of times and have never been disappointed with the staff, the food, or the ambience. Highly recommend if you find yourself in the Reston area.
