Fried tofu lunch special is surprisingly good. They don’t have individual tables you basically sit at the bar. Place is a little dated. Would go here for lunch but probably not for dinner.

My wife and I had supper here the first week of April. Food was great (including sushi) and service was superb. We sat in a private booth, NOT around the food prep grills in the restaurant. There was one unexpected item on the bill that is easily missed: there was an automatic 18% upcharge added to the bill for tip. If you don't notice this addition to the bill, you could easily tip in the 40% range, as you add your tip to a credit card charge. This is not a negative statement about the restaurant, just an item to be aware of as you go to dine there.

this restaurant serves terrible food although the locals in there were obviously used to it their idea of a salad is a tiny bowl of iceberg lettuce the soup was just like dishwater the steak was well done although I asked for medium rare it was not expensive so I guess you get what you pay for i spoke to the manager who blamed the staff the waitresses were actually the best thing about this place sad she didn't even know there is more than one kind of rice in the world she thought all rice was "American" I guess Americanized food is truly now the worst food in the planet even in a japanese restaurant the owner argued that a small bowl of ice burg lettuce was a salad to Americans I would no way dream if eating there again

Walking in I was kinda skeptical it didn't look like a great place. Went in and got seated it all changed. The seating was pretty neat the way it was set up. The waitress was decent. I would say great but we ran out of drinks several times. Drinks was just tea. The cook was amazing at his job and the food was great. Great job to everyone one there.

I’ve been here twice for my birthday free meal with my husband. You get to pick chicken or shrimp hibachi. I love how big the portion size is. I eat a lot, and I couldn’t finish. The food tastes great, and it’s fun to watch the chef.

I always stop in here for Sushi when I am in Lynchburg and I always enjoy it. Never a complaint in 20± visits.

If you go to Kotos and love the food do not order delivery or pick up because this mess is horrible. I love this place but the order I got today is the worst food I’ve ever had there. The rice isn’t cooked all the way the steak is cooked way too much you can’t even chew it and the onions are green so that’s not real encouraging. It’s so gross and Grubhub was just not real easy to work with so over all these places that don’t care what they serve us. I have so many reviews and most of them have negative comments. Get with that people.

I eat at a lot of Japanese restaurants in my travels. This one was I would say is good. The spring rolls are the small fried type. I did not ask but I was expecting the veggie shrimp rolls with peanut sauce. These were good though.I ordered two rolls. Each roll was good. I sat at the bar and the bar tender did not seem to be in the greatest mood but he may have been having a bad day.I noticed a lot of folks coming in to pick up food. Maybe that’s the way to go.
