The place could use a some dusting/general cleaningService was slow and had to wait long times to ask for anything on the menuExpensive menu for food that’s mediocre at best. Disappointed with the Apple cider, it was very watery

We enjoyed our afternoon tea. The place was very busy and perhaps understaffed. The second pot of tea was weak. While the chocolate dipped Oreo balls weren't British the scones were delicious!

A lovely little place to sit and read downtown. Popped in during a visit up in Lynchburg and had the most wonderful meal

The ambiance is amazing! It's like a little piece of England in Lynchburg. The clotted cream is INCREDIBLE. The service is good with unlimited tea and the owner will stop by your table to ask how everything is. This is a Lynchburg treasure.

I was looking for a last minute fun trip for me and my wife. She enjoys a good English tea restaurant, and really liked this one a lot. We were too early for high tea, but we will be back again in the future to get the full experience. The scones were amazing, probably the best I've ever had. The atmosphere is very inviting. Nice people greet you when you walk in and the experience overall was great.

Beautiful antiques and setting. HOWEVER - one lady greeting, seating, taking orders, serving and checking people out. Long waits between order taken and food delivered. OUT OF GREENS!! That eliminated most of the entrés which were salads!! Quiche and cabbage were cold. Unfortunately this was a bad experience and then we had to pay for it!! Probably won’t go back. Very sad and disappointed to say this.

Lovely traditional tea room with traditional teas and treats. Freshly made baked goods and a small but essential selection of teas. Make reservations, they do a brisk business. We called the morning of our visit (as tourists) and they accommodated our party of 5. Great service, though slightly understaffed, as most restaurants.
Absolutely delicious afternoon tea. Could not recommend enough! Wonderful outing with my mom and grandma.Vegetarian options: All kinds of options!

I can't really rate the place fairly. I went there to buy a couple of boxes of tea. They needed my phone number to call me and let me know when to come pick it up. That was a week ago. Yeah. I don't chase down places anymore. They don't want to call me, I don't need to buy it. Their loss.

If you want a taste of what it’s like to sit in a teahouse in London, the Ploughcroft Tea Room is the place to go in Lynchburg. The teas are delicious as well as the luncheon items. Totally forgot to take a photo of my entrée, but definitely we got photos of our dessert! I went for the strawberries with whip cream and meringue and oh my goodness, fantastic!
Cute enough and had the right feel, but did not meet expectations. Tea bags instead of loose tea and no plate or container or way to remove your steeped bags. Strangest "clotted" cream I've ever had--I know it's hard to get in the US, but if it's offered it should be right. We didn't eat lunch-only scones and dessert with tea. Scones (far too flat, but good flavor)and the cream were not right, but the earl grey pie offered was quite good. Prices were quite dear. Friendly server and owner.
