This place was a surprise to us. It doesn't seem like much from the outside, but don't be fooled. The inside has a good size dining area and a really great bar area with outside seating for warmer weather. It's a cool ambiance. The food was delicious! The service was great. Would highly recommend.

Place was empty post-lunchtime when I came, the server didn't take her sweet time recognizing there was a customer like some places do when they're slow. Food was excellent, steak could have used a little seasoning of something...maybe even just some type of garlic butter or sauce. Portion sizes were more than fair for the price for sure. I enjoyed the decor, had a unique almost pub like vibe to it. Will be back again for sure.

Food was average but satisfying but the real problem was waiting 5-10min to be seated. After being seated server was attentive and came by often. We also came back later for late night drinks and food which was exactly what you expected fried and delicious. The place looks really nice and does have outdoor seating. They also have a banquet room that looks really nice. For food can't go wrong with cheese sticks and the french dip.

We enjoy City Tavern for a quick bite and good drinks! I had the MOST DELICIOUS French onion soup here recently and highly recommend it. They also have an extensive whiskey list my husband enjoyed.

First time for my wife and I. Met family whom had been there before. Walked in and was greeted right away. Tried to seat us in the dining room next to the bar, with a Redskins game on. So loud we couldn't even hear the waitress. She moved the six of us to a very nice corner table on the other side of the dining room. Two ate table ordered a massive plate full of meatloaf, which they said was very good. Two had the fish & chips with one saying it was good, and the other had fish burnt and hard on the bottom, which was not good. I had a really good brisket sandwich and fries. The service was great! If it hadn't been for the burnt fish it would have been a five star evening.

Kristen is amazing! NFL Sunday, a full bar and tables, and doesn't miss a beat! Brunch was phenomenal! The homemade sausage gravy was, literally, homemade and second only to my friend DeDe's ... thank you Darnell! The spread went from breakfast food, to salad, to chicken and pork, to wings and potato skins and, of course, dessert. Excellent overall!!!
2 1/2 stars would be better for me to give. Brought my aunt here yesterday for the first time and actually went out of my way to do so. The prices were higher than I remember for starters. The waitress was nice but she seemed to be rushing us. My aunt is 83 so the extra time would have been better. Anyway the food was just ok. I had nachos which ended up being 17 dollars and it was chips with melted cheese and cubed chicken on top. The sour cream and pico came on the side. That was it! The brunch food was definitely not fresh but we did get there 15 minutes before it was over. The waitress was pushing it on us but only my two sons got it. The food just looked like stuff you can throw together at home. Probably won't make an effort to go back because if that and the prices. Last time I came here it was great that was about two years ago.

Too loud for me. On a date.. beer and burgers. There were a rather large table of people celebrating someone's birthday. Could not speak or hear because of the yelling. They knew this, could have set us below.... or maybe it was my date who chose the spot! Anyway, the food was excellent. As was the service. So much bacon on the blt i took a take home box of bacon. ?
