A great place with authentic offerings the other spots in the area lack. Nothing like it in Martinsville!

I can't say enough good things about this place. Cheese and chorizo is great. Flautas and amazing. I had the torta tonight and I gotta say one of the best. I'm from Texas I know my Mexican cuisine. And the service is excellent.

Best Lengua Tacos In Martinsville. I Travel All Throughout Virginia For Work And I Like To Find The Best Restaurants. Not Only Are There Tacos Delicious And Authentic, But The Price Is The Best That I've Come Across As Well

Tried La Plazita for the first time recently for lunch with a friend. We were seated immediately, (12:30 on a Wednesday), and were taken out to the courtyard/fountain area. I would recommend this area- it's bright and there is more separation between tables than inside the restaurant. We both thought the food was good. They did mix up my order-- but I thought it was very good, so I kept the food without saying anything, (I asked for no chicken, I got chicken). Everything was very fresh. I also liked the little salsa bar that's inside the restaurant so you can customize your heat/flavor. Very friendly and attentive waiter even though the restaurant was quite busy. Another customer ordered a seven (?) seafood bowl that looked absolutely amazing. I may have to try that next time!

Best restaurant in Martinsville! The authentic tacos were the best!

We visited for lunch and the restaurant was empty. We waited for more than 10 minutes to be seated but never were. One employee walked through the room, said hi, and kept going. We assumed someone would be out following that to seat us but after waiting another 5 minutes we finally gave up and left.

Decided to search for a Mexican restaurant near the museum and found La Plazita close by. It occupies a small multi unit building downtown and has a private parking lot behind the building. It was pretty empty for lunch. I was surprised to see a fresh salsa bar while we were being seated. I haven't seen that since being out west. We were seated in what appeared to be a common area inside the building that connected to several shops and offices. The Mexican restaurant had taken this over and turned it into a fountained plaza. The menu had the typical Mexican selections with a very limited lunch menu. I ordered the Birria Tacos and the rest of the group ordered tostadas. The salsa was really good here but the chips tasted like burned oil. Our food arrived quickly after ordering, the Birria tacos were great and had a rich flavor. The tostadas were ok but did not compare to the tacos. Decent food but no one came back to check on us and we were left to walk inside to request anything until the time the check came.

Had the three-taco plate. I am from California and love Mexican food. This was the best Mexican restaurant meal I have ever had.

Ordered the 3 taco plate recommended by the waiter, and I may never try anything else. Best restaurant tacos I have tasted in 50 years, and I am from Califirnia. Also comesin an order of 5, with your choice of steak, shredded beef, pork, or chicken in any combination you want. Melted cheese inside and a taco bar where you can add things like salsa, cilantro, and onions. Comes with rice and a side of soup you can use for dipping your tacos. Tender meat and truly delicious. Would give this item 6 stars if I could.

Stopped in for their taco special today and can heartily recommend. They were excellent, very filling. I couldn't eat all three. The rice was perfect. I wouldn't normally even mention the rice but, seriously, it was perfect. They should hold classes on how to do that. If you visit, be sure to check out the old west museum in the same building.

So we love this restaurant. The food is always delicious. However the waiter we had tonight was seriously lacking! He rarely checked on us. Had to be asked twice for more chips and to fill my husbands drink. We love the food here but goodness the service can make anyone not want to come back. I hope it improves. We come from over the line to visit frequently but maybe taking a little break. So five stars for the delicious food but 2 stars for the service.

If I could give less than one star, I would. Horrible experience and we only went for drinks! Server didn't know anything about any of the drinks or desserts that we inquired about. My margarita had black stuff (probably mold or sugar build up but either way, something that should NOT be floating in a customer's drink). I sent it back and told them that instead of another one, I wanted a shot instead. Got my ticket to see I was still charged "half price" for the margarita. When I went to discuss the pricing and why I shouldn't have to pay for it, the other woman just laughed like she didn't understand what I was even complaining about. I wouldn't come back to this place if it was the last restaurant in Martinsville!
