Did this place go out of business because when we got here it looked deserted and overgrown. These pictures were misleading. Wish Google maps told us it was no longer there. ??

Amazing place to get away. I had a short stay but packed a lot in — I was able to hike, have a nice dinner, take in the scenery on the blue ridge and enjoy the cool mountain weather. New owners are terrific hosts and putting their personal touches on the place (including renovations). This place is a gem. Can’t wait to explore more the next time we come through. Definitely worth the drive from DC!

We took our family on a little mountain escape and stayed at the Woodberry Inn. So quiet! We ate our dinners at the pond and took morning walks around the grounds. The room was quiet and comfortable. Parking right out front was so convenient! During the day we went for a hike close by and then enjoyed an evening at the Villa Appalachia Winery which had live music. Eating out was convenient and tasty. We had everything we needed at this Inn. What a treat to stay here.

I stayed here for 2 nights by myself a few years ago and not a single other person was staying at the Inn. It was a little spooky, but totally awesome. Slight Shining vibes, but in a Virginia way lol. In the morning I got an awesome breakfast at the bar. The area was beautiful. I've been meaning to go back ever since and do another solo trip.

Old decrepit, falling down. Like a location out of a horror movie. New owners tried to fix it up but there is just to much wrong. Needs to be bulldozes and started over.

Wish I read recent reviews. No heat and no one there to correct it. Didn't stay the 2nd night and owner hung up with me. Wow!

My wife and I attend a family reunion in North Carolina each year. Twice in the past we stayed at the Woodbury Inn and had a very nice time. This is now under new management and called Antlers Inn. When we arrived we were told the restaurant is being remodeled and is closed. That was not a surprise as we were informed of that prior to booking the room. We went to our room and the smell of mildew / mold was almost overwhelming. We turned on the AC and my wife sprayed the room with an air freshener we had in the car. We then went off to dinner, figuring things would be better when we returned. When we came back to the room, the odor was improved. My wife went to the bathroom as I decided to set up the coffee pot for morning. The cord for the coffee pot was too short to reach the outlet. So I moved it to the floor, then realized that I needed to unplug either the microwave or a lamp in order to plug it in. I chose the microwave, but then noticed another plug lying there. It was for the refrigerator. The fridge was wet on the outside. I opened the door and it was wet ono the inside - I assumed the frost from the little freezer within had defrosted. As this was happening my wife was speaking from the bathroom complaining of a wet floor. I walked to the bathroom door as she opened it and the floor was visibly wet. I grabbed a towel (that happened to be white) and used that to dry the floor. When I picked it up, the towel was a dark brown color. With that we agreed that we were not staying in that room. I went to the hotel desk and stated what had happened. The owner said, "Are you in room 106?" I said, "No, room 101" He said, "Huh, we haven't had that problem with THAT room." With that I asked for a refund as it sounded as though there had been problems in other rooms. The owner said that he would need to reverse the credit card transaction. I asked if he needed my card and again he said no. With that, we packed our things and left. A few days later we arrived home and there had been no credit card refund. I e-mailed the owner asking if he was going to refund my money and he never responed. It was at that point that I decided to leave this review.

I know that it's under new ownership and looking so forward to seeing what you guys can do with it. I've been told there is a pool going to be installed as well but the owners are very very friendly

It's right off the parkway and tucked away. A very peaceful place to stay. The Manager Tyler Labbs is wonderful.

Wonderful staff. The manager Belinda goes the extra mile to accommodate your needs and make you feel welcome. Rooms are quaint and rustic. Great food and good times. The bartender makes for a fun night. Will definitely book again.
