Loved the Salty Pig, until tonight when I went to their location only to find it had closed. Yet their website and GrubHub still have the (closed) address listed. Just a sign on the door saying they'd relocated and to go to a new address. I drove all the way to the other side of town (~15 minutes) to pick up the order my friend had placed for us via GrubHub because my father had come home from hospital today and she wanted to help out. I get there only to be told they stopped taking GrubHub orders and that I needed to get in touch with GrubHub. Meanwhile, I could purchase the food tonight. The staff communicated I was "another" GrubHub situation, so this is an ongoing issue. If you stopped taking GrubHub, yet orders continue to be placed, I think I'd be a bit more diligent about getting my restaurant off the site. However, this does not excuse the restaurant STILL having an incorrect address on their website and a phone number that goes unanswered. I called several times before driving over to the new location. Had someone answered the phone, a lot of this could have been avoided. So, though my family has ordered dinner from this restaurant several times and enjoyed it a great deal, we will not be returning.

I usually don't go to BBQ joints because of my allergies but someone told me that they have a great Smoked Chicken Salad Sandwich, so I went to check it out. Place is kind of small but I'm not going to get into the place itself as we found that they are closing this location and have partnered with Sleepy Fox Distillery in the Town of Ashland and have opened up there. Which is 10 minutes from where we live so we will be checking out their new location. My wife had the Pork BBQ Sandwich, and she is more of a minced BBQ person but said the pulled they had was so good she didn't even put any sauce on it. She got fries and slaw on the side. The fries were steak fries and just as good as anywhere else. I got the Smoked Chicken Salad Sandwich, and it was GREAT. The smoke was on spot and had some onion and what looked like celery for some crunch. The sandwich came with lettuce and tomato. To be honest I couldn't tell if it had mayo which was fine with me because it was more like a BBQ than a Salad. I had onion rings on the side which were nice and crunchy and cooked perfectly. My wife is not a fan of slaw, so I had it but was not a fan. Now the size of these sandwiches was monster compared to other places I have been to. My wife couldn't finish hers but took the rest home for the kitties to share. It was so good that we ended up getting a pound of Q to go for my son and his roommate and a pound of chicken salad which I actually fried some in a pan with some scrambled eggs the next morning. Our server was young I am assuming as she couldn't bring our beer to us but was really good and attentive and even helped with questions I had about how things were made and spices they used for my sandwich because of my allergies. Though this location is closing I can't wait to try the new location in Ashland Virginia at The Sleepy Fox Distillery. I would recommend giving this company a try if you like BBQ. I also noticed that they have smoked wings and some seafood on the menu here. I will hopefully get to the new location soon to do a review and hopefully they will have the same there. To be honest I really didn't look at the prices so I really can't comment and the wife paid for it, but I do know that the total was $85.00 for our meals, 3 beers on tap and to go 1 pound each of Q and Salad with 8 buns and a large mac n cheese side.

Although there was only one waitress on duty who was doing EVERYTHING we received such excellent service. Her name was Alisha and she had 7 or 8 tables during our visit, our drinks were never empty, she came by numerous times to see if we needed any thing else. She was seating the customers, fixing drinks, and serving food! A lot of waitresses but have been overwhelmed but she kept a smile on her face the entire time. Food was great and we will definitely go back again!

The staff is amazing and so is the food. The wait time is a bit over the top. I just wonder when it became the place for the same 8 drunk people to take over the bar area talking ridiculously loud and of course these people are all going to drive home as trashed as they are. Let me just be sure I leave before they do as these fools are over the top drunk.

First time trying this place out during our BBQ craving we were having. Usually our go to spot is Q BBQ, however we wanted to see their competition. Overall, cute inside seating with nice staff. Menu was overall pretty good with good options and sides. Food came out quickly and seemed fresh. Food experience overall however was just okay. Green beans seemed like canned, hush puppies were small for 4 dollars and brisket was a little dry. I still enjoyed myself however Q is still better.

Decided to grab a weekday lunch with a few colleagues and The Salty Pig got the job done but wasn't anything all that magical. Our waitress was solid but not especially friendly or quick. She appeared to be the only server working. Each of us got the pulled pork sandwich with a variety of sides. The fries were crispy, the mac and cheese had a fun little spice to it, and the coleslaw was fine. The sandwich itself was a good serving of pork & came with two different styles of BBQ sauce. Overall, a just fine experience. I'll eat here again in a pinch but am not dying to return.

The Salty Pig catered a huge fundraiser at Compass Christian Church and it was incredible. Had a delicious and massive pulled pork sandwich. Don't know how they managed to serve so many people so quickly and it still be amazing.

Best BBQ in town! I want to try the smoked turkey, but haven't been able to skip the pork to do it. Never had pork rinds I like until I tried theirs. Usually I don't like hot, but you NEED the hot honey with the pork rinds. Come hungry!

My daughter and I were in town from Arizona and found this gem. The food was great, as well as the service. We really enjoyed the food.

Food is very good but the wait staff is terrible everytime I eat here the waiter or waitress never checks on us or gives us refills. If they improve the wait staff it would be a great place

First bbq place that had no smoke flavor and cooked on a flat top grill. 13.00 for a sandwich with no flavor! If I opened my bbq next to them they would be out of business in 3 months. Very disappointed.

My wife and I frequently dine here because "we've never had a bad meal here!" The brisket is very good, and the staff is great.

Best BBQ joint I’ve ever been too. Will probably eat here a few times a month. Amazing pork, chicken, brisket and ribs. Good portions too and friendly staff. Can’t stop talking about how good this place is !!!
