Nice little attractive place. It has a romantic vibe and more suited to couples and not family or children. They have no Childrens menu. They also have no soda, not even cans. Our food was way on the high price side for VA overall. I got lasagna. It was flat noodles and tomato sauce layered with basil. I don’t like basil and have never seen a lasagna like this. The meatballs were okay and cold. The spaghetti and sauce did not taste homemade. I was not impressed by the price or food uniqueness or flavor. It might be a nice place to take a date for a quiet romantic glass of wine. It’s located in a unique but empty business area.

We stopped by here on a whim with some soccer families while traveling for a tournament. We had 17 people with us and every single one of us LOVED it here!! The staff was so courteous, friendly and helpful, the atmosphere was awesome and the food was AMAZING! Everything was fresh, made to order and delicious! I can’t say enough good things about this place and we can’t wait to go back again!

Pros: Atmosphere was welcoming & cozy. Emma our server was terrific. The prices are fair. We enjoyed the goat cheese appetizer. And the basil lemon cheesecake is a very unique offering.Cons: I think my expectations were too high based upon reviews talking about the best Italian in the city/central VA. . . that wasn’t my experience. The chicken parmigiana was just okay and I certainly would not order that from this location again.I want to like this place but am not in a hurry to return.

Wonderful Italian food with a unusual and extensive menu! Our server was Al and he was particularly congenial and attentive. Love the ambiance in this restaurant, the hanging jars for lights is very unique! We had Chicken Parmaeson and Saltibucco Chicken. Both meals came with salad, a side, and bread and oil. For the side you cannot beat the Brussel sprouts!! I have tried this dish in many places and Isabella's is the best! Altogether, a great meal!

HANDS DOWN best italian restaurant in central Va. I've tried every one of the best italian restaurants in richmond. Mamma zu, Gersi, edo squid...they just don't compare. Everything here is home made. The spaghetti noodles were home made. I've worked at Brio and a few other restaurants in the area and I've never seen a place make their own spaghetti noodles. The parpadelle was fantastic. The fried mozzarella was so soft it tasted like fried borratta. The basil cheesecake was next level.Finally our server Al was phenomenal. And an excellent bartender.A+
Very hospitable, clean environment during COVID. Delicious, fresh salads come with all entrees. Very friendly staff, and a great happy hour until 6:30pm with $4-$5 drinks. Their wine pours are also very generous. All around great experience!

We celebrated a birthday at Isabella’s and it was wonderful! The meal was exceptional and the service was excellent. We could not decide who had the best entree because all the dishes were so delicious. We all enjoyed the homemade pasta and the cheesecake was beyond amazing. We’ll definitely be back!! We ordered out for the first time from Isabella's Bistro this evening. We called in to order for carryout and did a small order of fried mozzarella caprese, small house salad, and a pizza. The order was ready on time and the service was friendly! When we unpacked at home we were pleased with the sizes and the addition of the bread & olive oil. The housemade Italian dressing for the salad was really good. The fried mozzarella and sauce were excellent. The pizza was good as well. We are definitely looking forward to ordering again and trying out the various pasta dishes.
