I've tried this 4 times with 4 different groups since I live close by. The meat seems fatty and greasy with not much flavor. The sides just weren't very great either. After trying it multiple times everyone agreed it just wasn't somewhere they would return to. Been to 2 separate catered events by them and everyone was disappointed as well. On Hull we only have Q and Mission so I feel like people use them as one of the only options for BBQ. I'm not a big Mission BBQ fan but I would say they are much better than Q. I believe the founder is a famous BBQ pit master but has no daily interactions with the restaurant; assuming this is why people rate it high?? The burnt ends were soggy and pure fat as well.

We got the burnt ends and smoked chicken. Absolutely delicious. I especially love the greens. Best I've ever had. The Cole slaw did need more flavor. Too dry. Overall lots for your money. Ive been there twice and will definitely go back. Also the place was very clean.

Ordered the 3 meat sampler: brisket, ribs, and sausage. The brisket ... one slice quite dry, the others were better. VERY tender. The ribs were excellent. The sausage was a bit spicy, not overwhelming. The fries were generic frozen/bagged and thus unappealing. Jean had the pulled pork. She said it was wonderful! Personally, I'd go to Mission BBQ. The fries are hand cut and incredible. The meats similarly good (with the exception of the turkey, there, as it was quite dry). It was slightly more expensive, though.

The food is not true BBQ. The collard greens were sour, the baked beans were bitter, mac and cheese just tasted like pasta only, the coleslaw had no seasoning just plan, the meat was tender but no taste to it. Couldn’t even finish eating the food, it was that terrible. I was reading the reviews and thought it was good BBQ to order after eating a little bit it just confirmed that Virginia has no tastebuds and don’t know ture BBQ. Don’t trust the reviews unless you can find someone that not from Virginia.
