Sidecar is such a great new addition to the area. Tropical drinks were all delightful. Service was excellent. The decor and ambiance are so cozy and relaxing it makes you feel like you’re on a tropical island.

Cool little bar with amazing drinks. Mainly rum focused but they have just about everything. They also have a small menu of food options. We had a smoked old fashioned and a Cobra Fang!Also ordered the Jerk Chicken Satay and Costa Rican Pork Tacos. Both very good.Definitely going back.Parking: Lots of parking

TLDR/Conclusion: With a Miami-centric intent and a broad spirits and extra-Miamian (Hawaiian+) decor/food selection, this spot feels like it is run by a committee with a few different visions and a general aspiration to be a lot of things when just a single, well-executed vision would do. We may return after some time.We visited on a Friday night for the first time. Looking for fun drinks and a fun vibe, we sat at the bar and ordered a 1937 Cobra Fang and an Espresso Martini.On the positive, we were met with friendly smiles and a warm greeting. The vibe was pretty good and the intimate atmosphere led to a good conversation and comfort. Service was timely and prices seemed fair.We noted a few observations/opportunities. First, the 1937 Cobra Fang was listed with a rum of El Dorado 8, however, was served with Flor de Cana 7 (we watched this substitution happen with all Fangs) and it was not communicated which seemed deceptive. I doubt most people would notice, but it raised some concern. The Espresso Martini was made with the ingredients listed and did not contain actual espresso, which was a risk we wished we wouldn't have taken. Finally for round two, I requested a local (RVA) rum, and a full pour was not available.Another opportunity might be that the bar had over 210 bottles on the bar. Don't get me wrong, a good selection, particularly for the "rum forward" approach they take, makes sense. However, for a spot with a "curated spirits list including hard-to-find bourbons and tequilas", having so many options takes away from the stated experience in my opinion. It just feels a bit all over the place and unable to fully deliver on the basics.*no food was sampled.

Hey everyone.So I love rum so we had to come and check out this new spot, we are glad we did. Sidecar is a nice and really cool vibe spot that you need to check out. Not only do they have rum but they have this Amazing drinks that are off so delicious. The food was so good and smaller plates to share so order all of them lol. Check them out and you won’t regret it, I promise that. We will be back again and make it to one of our regular spot.Vegetarian options: They had optionsParking: Plenty of parking spots
If you are looking for a different and unique experience…Sidecar is the way to go. Unreal rum selection but they also have a great selection of bourbons, scotches, gin and vodkas! Their cocktail program is fun and approachable while still be creative and whimsical. Def a must!

Went to Sidecar for my husbands 30th birthday. Although we were the only people in there at 6pm on a Wednesday, the atmosphere was awesome. Beautiful space with great decor. Bar was almost full by the time we left around 7pm. Service was great, our bartenders was so attentive and chatted with us about the area and the history of the bar after its opening in February!We ordered a few different cocktails, each one more delicious than the last. And their seasoned pretzels are seriously AMAZING. Highly recommend for special occasions or a casual drink with friends. Excited to try more of their food next time we visit.

What a cool spot. Reminds me of the cocktail bars you would see in the Caribbean, and they've done a great job bringing that atmosphere to Richmond. The menu was broad enough to have something for everyone, and the cocktails were very reasonably priced. So glad Richmond is upping the cocktail bar scene with places like this. Have to try the food next time!

Greetings,The experience here was a little underwhelming. It's apparent that the the staff in this establishment tries to make do with the resources and training available to them. For instance, the Rum Punch during HH had two levels of consistency ( they ran out by the pour of the first order--made another concoction--and not only was in different in color and consistency, but also it TASTED different). The restaurant may need to spend time up-crafting it's menu; it's not comparable in the most positive of quality and variety. Changing a few things with regards to the menu would possibly draw in more customers.
