The food was ok. Nothing to write home about. We waited far longer than other tables to receive our food. This meant our hush puppies were cold. Gross. The peel and eat shrimp were good. That's hard to mess up. The lobster roll was salty and forgettable. Since the hush puppies were cold, we asked for another lobster roll. But, the first one one was salty and lacking lobster flavor. Good thing since the "replacement" took over 25 min to arrive, we just cancelled it and paid the bill. We went on the night of the lighted boat parade. This was advertised weeks in advance. The restaurant had a whopping 2 severs for the huge crowd. Disappointing, underwhelming, and not a place we will return to.

The server told us that it was the first day with the new menu. NO FN EXCUSE! Practice on your own time! I am not an experiment!!!! When I on order a sandwich I do not expect it to take half an hour. I also expect my drink to be refilled in a timely manner and not to have to complete with our server socializing outside of her job.

Had an awesome Friday late afternoon/evening at Portside! We brought friends that were visiting from WV. Everyone had a great time listening to music, having a beverage and a little food. Highly recommend!!

What a great little floating spot on Smith Mountain Lake. The menu is small but surprisingly tasty. We had the BBQ nachos and the pork was amazing. We also had the peel and eat shrimp, twice. Fresh cold and the cocktail sauce was a refreshing surprise. The service was ok, we sat at he bar and the bartender had trouble focusing on the work at hand. He was really good at socializing with locals at the peek time of business. They were clearly understaffed, but that is today’s reality. Great experience overall.

This place is awesome. It was very busy on a Saturday afternoon but we got seats right away. The service is great and food amount was just enough for a quick lunch. I highly recommend it wether you come by car or boat.

My go to bar on the lake!!! Ambience is a jimmy buffet bar vibe!! Specialty drinks are top shelf and the wait staff fit the buffet bill!!! Wouldn't go anywhere else for a summer stop on the lake

Great ambiance - nice place on the water. Love to drive the boat up. Always find a boat slip to park. Good service and good food.

Food was decent. Been here several times and have never had as much of an issue as today. I get that it's father's day and all, but a To-Go order should not take 20+ minutes to be taken, especially when other orders are being taken. Upon getting my To-Go food, it took another 10 minutes to pay because the person "had to run and take care of tables". I'm sorry but it would make a lot more sense to get your To-Go customers in and out as fast as possible. I would have asked for a manager, but that likely would have taken another 20 minutes. Again, I get that it's father's day and it gets busy. But it should not take 40 minutes to get a to-go order from start to finish.
