Worse subway ! The owner/manager doesn’t have signs available at the register or door that states they don’t accept coupons. I paid for the transaction and then requested the refund after the manager pointed out a sign they have in the back of the ovens (hard to see) instead of explaining they don’t accept coupons as of recent, he instead said I was complaining because he was Asian. I couldn’t even believe what I heard. Absolutely disrespectful, to try and gaslight someone for your own wrong doing, with nonexistent racism. He smiled as he said it too, like as if it’s the get out of jail free card for whenever a customer has a complaint.I am disgusted! Do not come here because if you’re not happy with the business or food they will call you racist for expressing your grievances. Not to mention it’s slander so he’ll be receiving a letter, he can’t deny it either because there are cameras.UPDATE; I drove 3 min and 37 secs to the subway in fettler park and was able to use my coupon they owner and employees were also very apologetic about my experience at the other location and they were playing bachata for the customers. All of their signs are posted on the door and register, appropriately also.

Definitely read the reviews before you go or you will be disappointed! I've lived in Montclair for almost 16 years and have come to this location and used coupons. Today I went and was told oh we don't accept coupons which I normally would be ok with IF it was clearly posted for the customers to see at the door or register because then I would not have made them waste food by preparing food that I couldn't purchase in conjunction with my coupon. But nope ! The sign is posted at mid back level behind the employee who is making the food for you so it's not noticeable before after nor when you are interacting with the employees AND it's not at the register where customers pay.At first I acknowledged "rules are rules" and immediately just paid the regular price but then I started to think about all of times I used a coupon at this location and how the signs aren't posted clearly.I turned around within 3 mins and requested a refund1) at first he said they don't do refundsI then explained that's fine but for future reference he should have the store policies posted on the door and register so customers are not unaware until the rule is brought to their attention. The person I was speaking with then SMILED and said "you're doing this because I'm Asian"I couldn't believe my ears not only was it rude and disrespectful but it was IRRELEVANT. Our origins and skin color were not a dependent factor on how the store rules were conveyed to customers nor my ability to accept the food. However he thought this was a good way to rebuttal the complaint. After I left this restaurant I drove 4 min away to the fettler park location, they had visible signs on the door, were playing bachata, AND accepted my coupon.I explained my disappointment with the location in my neighborhood and they were very apologetic and agreed signs should be posted in plain view of their customers, which is why they have all of their signs posted on the door and register. If the person I interacted with is NOT the owner I hope the owner can convey the following: complaints about customer experience are often catalyZed by customer service not customer race, also different cultures are what makes America so great we are not monolithic, AND it's better to simply hear a customer out then to dismiss their complaints because it can make for a better business transaction in the future with that same customer OR new customers. BTW I wonder why the employee advised they never accepted coupons when there are reviews on google that clearly state they used a coupon at this location? I'm going to assume it's associated to the reason he stated for which I was complaining TSK TSK

The owner/manager is really stingy and cheap when it comes to serving the customers. I went to get a Philly cheesesteak and he measured out the meat three times for one scoop to make sure he didn't put more than a small cup. The sandwich had barely any meat on it and was mostly bread. Then I ask for a water cup and he said make sure to only get water with that. Which came off rude for a new customer. I will make sure I never go to this subway again.

Manager or owner (not sure which) who operates the Waterway Dr. location is so cheap. Gives you one napkin type of cheap. My fiancé ordered a steak and cheese and it was more like a bread and cheese because there was so little meat in the sandwich. One time, I asked for Jalapeños on the side and an employee was giving me a decent amount in a little to-go container. He saw it, and literally grabbed the already closed container to tell her she had put too many Jalapeños,and proceeded to take some out before handing it to me. He is always so stingy with every little ingredient. I will not continue to support this business. If I'm paying for something, I want to receive my money's worth. Stop being so stingy!

Cleanest subway I’ve been to in a while and polite.

The bread was so soft and fresh! All the fillings, turkey, provolone, lettuce, Spinach, green bell peppers, cukes, pickles and oil and vinegar were fresh and delicious! The service was friendly, and the restaurant looked clean, too

This Subway is by far the cleanest subway I have ever been to! And not like bleach and sanitizer overload smell either. I walked in and immediately noticed how clean it was. The staff was super friendly and efficient with my sandwiches and I could see that behind the counter and in the beverage station it was very clean as well. I have been in some really questionable subways and have left bc of how unclean and unkept the eating areas were. This one is GREAT and very clean. I feel comfortable taking my kids here for lunches. 10/10, 1,000% recommend if you're looking for sandwiches and something to eat in the area.

Finally decided to have subway after years but was disappointed to find a hair in my sub. You know the experience where you take a bite but there's a little resistance and then you pull back to find a long strand of brown hair covered with Mayo and chipotle- yeah no, not what I'm looking for in a meal. Facility appears clean and service is ok although they are very sparse with toppings. I won't be returning but if you venture to give it a try, expect a solid meh.

If you are looking for subway. There’s 12 miles down the street. This one they are super stingy on meat portions and Hommie chanter me 75cent for cheese. Look carefully at your receipt.

It was our second visit to this Subway. I sent my husband to pick up two subs to take advantage of my “buy one get one free” coupon to the Subway closest to us: Montclair, VA. We ordered the Turkey Breast Footlong Regular Sub and the Meatball Marinara Sub. Be aware that some of the subs are excluded from this deal. Check with the server before ordering. I found the subs to be not up to my expectations. My bread (multi grain) was stale and seemed to be a smaller version of what I remember in the past. From what I understand the restaurant is under new ownership. The owners seem to be directing their staff to favor the cheap side when it comes to meat and toppings. I ordered all the toppings they offered (my favorite order) and they tended to be on the skimpy side. My husband seemed liked the servers were “newbies” and were doing what was directed by the manager/owner. In my case, the food smelled “off” but thankfully I did not get sick. I am hesitant to try again but as the saying goes “the third time may be a charm”!
