Only giving one star not because of the food or staff, just for the false advertisement. If you search Vegan Food on google maps this is the second place that pops up. We went there super excited to try a new restaurant only to be given a menu with ZERO Vegan options on it. When we asked our server why that was she had to go get another staff member who replied with “ummm I think we can make like maybe one or two things on there vegan”….. So we decide to try one of the 2 random things she offered and I said “is that made with fish sauce ?”She says “yes all of our dishes are.” News flash, fish sauce isn’t vegan. I’m sure the food is fine based on all of the good reviews but if you don’t have ONE item on your menu that’s vegan, why are you labeling yourself in that category ?

Extremely nice place to relax and have a casual meal in peace. Mrs. Patty had great conversation and was super super friendly. We need more restaurants like her’s around. Family owned businesses are the best!

We practically lived here when it was Bamboo One and our hearts broke when Ling told us she was retiring. We were hesitant at first because this place held so many memories for us.But we finally gave it a shot and we were so wrong to be apprehensive. The food was fabulous, and the service was just perfect. We still feel right at home here. The food has changed, and the decor is a little different, but this place still hold a special spot in our hearts and our tummies.Definitely recommend.

Aroi Thai Cuisine in Newport News is a hidden gem. The restaurant has an extensive menu of Thai favorites. I ordered the Larb Salad, which comes with jasmine rice. It did not disappoint. I enjoyed the spiciness level of 3 out of 5, which is usually my tolerance for hotness. I will visit again soon and try the rest of the menu. Thai food is never a miss, and this restaurant holds up to that promise.

The best Thai restaurant in the 757! Large portions for lunch and dinner. Food is fresh and they do have vegetarian options. Excellent customer service. Prices are definitely affordable.

Patty is the absolute sweetest hostess. Her cooking is phenomenal, I've just been learning about Thai food and I've not found an entrée I didn't like. She would sit at our table and explain dishes flavor profiles as well as where they're from in Thailand. She always remembers us and has recommended perfect dishes based on what we've liked. We generally order app, entree, and dessert so we tend to spend $25/$30 per person, but you could do 15/20 for just entrees. Can't recommend Aroi enough, try the Khoa Soi! Enjoy, and thank you Patty!

I’ve never actually eaten here before I just pick up for doordash, but everytime I come here the vibe is so lovely and peaceful. I love the interior design, if you love a good tropical looking restaurant you should definitely consider eating here, they have good chill jazzy music and the server is so nice and welcoming. Also the water fountain sounds amazing.?

The food is delicious! The Tom yum fried rice has all the flavor of a Tom yum soup. The Thai tea and green curry were great too. A new favorite place and excited to try more. The owners really want you to enjoy your experience and put great care into their work.

Our favorite Thai restaurant in Hampton roads area by far! Food is wonderful, prices are extremely reasonable, and the owners/servers are so friendly. We used to love Bamboo One, which was also in this location, so we're super happy that such a wonderful restaurant has taken its place.

Very delicious and authentic Thai food. There are a few dishes here that you won't find at other Thai restaurants in the area. Go out of your comfort zone to tickle your taste buds with something different. I have been eating Thai/Lao food around the world, including in Thailand and at home with my Laotian mother and my Thai wife for 40+ years. Aroi Thai does not disappoint and prices are reasonable for the current economy. As an added bonus, they do a mean Pho too!

I really can’t describe how good this place is. I eat here at least once a week. Many times more. And have never had a bad dish. Every person I take here always comes back. Great value for what you get as well! And extremely friendly staff. LOVE this place!

So far this thai restaurant is the best authentic Thai I came across since moved from Queens and Brooklyn, NY. Ingredients are fresh and plentiful. Pad thai is served with a nice balance of thinly sliced vegetables inc bean sprouts, rice noodles and meat. seasoning of sweet, spicy, and saltiness is perfect, not one is overpowering others. Tum yum noodle, fried rice varieties, spring rolls, papaya salad, drunken noodles, curry noodle, etc, have all met and surprised my expectation.the Newport News neighborhood feels a little uncomfortably unsafe yet food makes up for the venture into the neighborhood.Highly recommend.
