Decor inside is a little old and dated but the food and service are AMAZING!! Once you have the food you won't care about the surroundings. I ordered the spring rolls with shrimp and yellow curry with chicken. Son ordered the Pho and husband ordered a shrimp appetizer. Everything was Delicious!!!!! Owner/server was very polite and attentive. We will definitely return!

As someone else mentioned, the lady owner seemed very nice. Unfortunately, me and my husband overheard her and this other lady microwaving the food. The food didn't turn out fresh as expected like in active dine-in restaurants for dim sum like in N.Y. To add insult to injury, the lady shorted us on some change and also a dish for roast pork. Didn't realize it until we left because the lady was counting off the dishes for us as a final check before leaving. Only good thing besides the food tasting mostly, relatively o.k., for microwaved, non-fresh food, is that the owner tried to remedy the burnt egg custards with 2 free replacements. Regret our visit to this place and the food is definitely NOT worth over $50. Oh and for 13% Newport News taxes as she had claimed, definitely not worth paying for either. If you hear that high in taxes for food alone (without it being in N.Y. or D.C.), do yourself a favor and walk away like we should've done.Vegetarian options: Some meatless dishes available.Kid-friendliness: Lots of tables.Parking: Decent parking but not terribly spacious.

The lady was sweet. I wish I could say the same thing about the food. I ordered dimsum to go and I heard them microwaving my food… the short ribs was bad. I mean the meat tasted spoiled/ old. Such a shame because I’ve been wanting to try this place for a while. Not worth spending $53.

I got the xiaolongbao and pork with white rice. It was all amazing and I loved the dipping sauce for the pork I plan on coming back and trying different stuff!

One of my top 2 of phò in Newport News... Dim sum is great as well ^_^Seriously, they have a large variety of Dim Sum and I've tried at least 1/3 of them; all of them delicious.Their DUCK is so good that people drive from the VA beach side for it. Also... The SHRIMP ? ???????????You've gotta try it.UPDATE: 9-30-2022COME HERE WHILE YOU CAN! This INSTITUTION of delicious offerings WILL BE CLOSING THEIR DOORS in a NEAR FUTURE ?????

Didn't even get the chance to eat here because service was so slow. We walked in, didn't feel inviting at all. The area it is in was a little off putting as well. We waited for 10 minutes to at least have someone to take our drinks. That didn't happen. So we just left and went elsewhere. If I could give 0 stars I would. So don't let my one star fool you.

Bamboo One is a hidden gem. Out of towners, military personnel and locals should flock to this place if you crave childhood favorites and dimsum made to order. Ricerolls, Siu Mai, Har Gow, Hu Tieu Wonton egg noodles with roast pork or duck. A very comprehensive menu considering the neighborhood.

I've been here 3 times recently and every time the food has been exceptional. The Dim Sum is always perfect and the entrees are good sizes with great flavor. It's a little hole in the wall place but I'm so glad I tried it.

This is such a great place for dim sum. The staff was great. Just a heads up. The location is not in a great area. However, once inside you will enjoy a great meal.

Enjoyed a Jasmine tea while waiting on a to go order! Inside was small & empty on a Wednesday night, but my questions were answered & a 6 item order was & received in the 15 minutes promised! The menu had so much to choose from! It was hard to narrow it down, but eventually settled. We will definitely be back for the pork buns! But I can't wait to try a few other things as well.

I had the chicken bun today and it was delicious! It's my first time here but not my last. The chicken was intensely flavorful with hits of lemongrass and perfectly crispy and moist. I'm new to the area and have been spoiled by the Vietnamese food in LA as well as Vietnam. I didn't think I could find anything nearly this good here!

Delicious food had to try it because it is in the neighborhood. I was very full after the beef and rice noodles plate I got but I could have enjoyed more beef in it. Food was out quickly and we just loved the quiet ambience. This was my first time eating Vietnamese food and overall I was not disappointed.

Delicious vegetarian pho. The inside was decorated beautifully and was calming. The service was really kind and hospitable. The prices were very reasonable. I had veggie dumplings as an appetizer and they were also great. Wonderful local gem.

Recently we stopped in this little place for lunch craving some dim sum. What a pleasant surprise it was to discover such a "hole in a wall" place that serves unbelievably tasty Vietnamese and Chinese food. Had many dim sum dishes, XLB, and Vietnamese Steamed Crepes, which we never met in any other restaurant. All the food was very fresh and yummy, the inside of the restaurant was very clean and cozy with an old looking but beautiful decorations, and the lady who served us provided a very nice and right on point service. Hope to return to this restaurant in our traveling roots in a future.
