This was our go to Mexican place. But something has changed and it isn't as good. Food is slow to come out and dry. The last two time everything tasted old and the final time everyone got sick within 2 hours of eating here. Big Bills Mafia hang out on game days in the back/patio area.

Got the supreme chicken nachos… they were cold and soggy. Diet Coke was flat. Our spinach dip (appetizer) came after our entrees… and it wasn’t worth the wait.. my husband’s pork tacos with pineapple sauce weren’t memorable and The tortilla tasted stale. We were given no utensils.. we won’t be going back

The ambiance is typical and service is good. I found the food mediocre, but the price was decent. I've been here a couple of times because friends have chosen it, but I'm really not impressed. I know I was spoiled living in San Diego for 10 years and getting authentic Mexican food, but Newport News is sadly lacking anything remotely close to authentic Mexican food. I ate here last week on a Tuesday. My friend chose it. It was just ok. We both ordered street tacos. The biggest saving grace was the friendly staff. So would I eat here again? Yes if someone else were to choose it. It wouldn't be on my personal list though.

Was not a fan of the food or drinks here. We had a few drinks each (alcohol type). They had little to no alcohol in them or didn’t taste right. The chips, stale and reminded me of some cheap knock off brand from food lion, the salsa was very plain. The tacos, the meat was actually pretty good, but the tortillas tasted very flowery. The burrito was good but it wasn’t very spicy and it didn’t have a lot of meat or vegetables in it. The service wasn’t bad, just a little slow

I ordered the famous chiles rellenos ($12.99) to go for dinner which consisted of 2 poblano peppers stuffed with cheese and rice and beans on the side. They were delicious. Plus, I was given chips and homeade salsa with my to go order which I did not expect. I loved the garlicky salsa and the chips were very fresh. This is the best Mexican food I've had in Newport News, VA.Vegetarian options: Various vegetarian lunch menu dishes and dinner menu items. I'm not a vegetarian, but the first time I eat anywhere I prefer vegetarian options. I feel if you can't do veggies right, there might be problems. Chichuahua's food is VERY good. I look forward to going back.
