Came to check it out and overall great spot with good food. Staff was friendly and service was prompt, even being peak time. Coffee was good and grabbed a seat at the community table (which meant no wait). Menu is extensive and covers typical American fare for breakfast and lunch. Got the breakfast tacos and swapped thr beans for potatoes. While it all tasted great the potatoes were on the salty side. For the tacos and just adding jalapeños doesn't denote flavor or mean is "southwest". Still great spot and would come back.

Excellent omelet. Good potatoes and onions on the side. Coffee was awful. Waitress was awesome.

First Watch is a hidden gem in Newport News. I've driven by it so many times and never thought to stop until today, when our original breakfast plan fell through. And wow, am I glad we did! The vibe is so welcoming and cozy, and the food is awesome. We're already planning to go back. It's a bit pricier than some other breakfast spots, but trust me, it's worth it. If you're up for treating yourself to a really good breakfast, you've got to try this spot!

I've been here a few times and have never been disappointed. On my last visit, I had the smoked salmon frittata, I ate every bite it was so good.

First time here. Was seated right away even though it was busy. Our waitress was great. Brought our drinks or right away and the food came out looking good and tasted great.

Fabulous experience. I arrived like 20 min before closure and they still attended me well with no rush.

Went with my family after church there was a 30 min wait unless we sat at the community table ( I wasn't aware this was a thing) we were elated to as it meant we could sit right away, place our order and eat sooner ? My 7 yo wanted fries which they don't have, so she was upset. My 12 yo and I had the eggs, toast and home fries, several of our homefries were hard ? I had chicken sausage (not very good) she had bacon it wasn't crispy like she prefers, She enjoyed her scrambled eggs. my husband had an omlette, which he said was just ok. His homefries were also hard. The jam for the toast was good. Honestly, I'm not sure what all the hype is. The waitress was also just ok. The atmosphere was the best thing about our experience, but I can't say I'd return, not for breakfast anyway. IHOP had better tasting breakfast and won't break the bank. We spent over $60 for 3 meals, 2 coffees, and 2 hot chocolate... I'm an honest reviewer it wasn't terrible, but it wasn't worth a trip back either.
