I'm in town visiting my daughter and she knows I'm always in the hunt for good Mexican food. Not Tex Mex. I checked reviews and KNEW once I saw Southern California Mexican food I had to try it. We ordered the mixed fajita plate, empanadas both chicken and beef and shrimp cocktail. Let me start w our drinks. The michelada was HUGE!! They also served the large beer in that mug as well. We expected drinks to be $15-20 each. Michelada was $11 and the beer was $5!!! Amazing price. Now for the food. The fajitas were good. Good flavor, good balance of meat and veggies. Empanadas were amazing. The broth that comes with it was flavor awful and the garnished on top were a fresh compliment. We also enjoyed the shrimp cocktail which came with tostada shells. Big shrimp I wish they would cut into bite size pieces which would be easier to manage but it was really good so I would def order again. I would order all of it again. Very clean, music playing, bright and colorful decor. They have some large tables for big parties too. Servicers were so nice and attentive. Definitely a must try!!

I feel like I was instantly transported back to my home town in the 956. The seating, the tv set up, the waitress rolling silverware in the back all reminded me of what makes a great Mexican restaurant. I have 3 criteria of what makes a great restaurant great and they hit them all in the first few mins. 1. The chips and salsa weren't just good but were not a extra charge as an "appetizer " 2. The horchata was an absolute banger 3. Someone's daughter or niece was folding silverware in the corner After those three signs came I instantly knew that whatever I ordered was going to be amazing The entire menu was so tempting I wanted one of everything I ordered the margarita flight and birria tacos and subbed corn tortillas for flour The owner was absolutely amazing and patient with my kiddos. My little boy was stimming and dancing to the music. The owner and servers paid no mind and smiled in his direction. It honestly is a big relief for my wife and I whenever others are understanding and don't make a scene. I can't wait to come back and bring my friends for great dinner and great drinks

Nothing like a good mexican restaurant in the coastal area! We came here while it was busy and service was a little slow, so we were a little bit more patient and had to wait a while for our food and drinks. The ambiance of the restaurant was welcoming and fun! The pricing of the dishes were fair. I'm very picky with lengua and their lengua taco was amazing! The drinks were a little heavy but there are no complaints there :) Carne asada plate was delicious and there were no leftovers to take home!

Guapo's is a really excellent Mexican restaurant. It looks authentic and the food is very authentic and delicious. Service was excellent as well. We started with margaritas. I had the mango blended margarita and it was just perfect. They also had nachos with the best bean dip and salsa. It is a huge menu, wider than most Mexican restaurants. For the main course, I had the mixed fajitas. These were outstanding. The tortillas were nice and fresh. The chicken and beef were both seasoned and cooked perfectly. The vegetables were great as well. Everyone loved their meals as well. It is absolutely worth a visit.
Nice atmosphere! I ordered the tacos and they were good. We also enjoyed several margaritas and they were excellent and affordable. They were $5 during Happy hour on Taco Tuesday!!

Love coming here, perfect for family gatherings. Different, they have things on the menu you don’t see elsewhere, my favorite is the seafood tower they make it how I like it just right delicious and for dessert tress leches cake ? it was delicious I recommend it ? My son had the tacos De lengua he loved them. Service is great too. Came here last night for karaoke it was fun. Seeing people sing was entertaining my 7-year-old was braver enough to get up stage and sing and loved it ?♥️ ?

Honestly, 10/10. First authentic Mexican restaurant in a long time to actually serve huaraches and other "non-typical" Mexican American dishes. And y'all... if you Mexican you can definitely taste the difference between canned frijoles and homemade frijoles. What amazes me is that frijoles con quesito is complimentary for the tacos. Everything was absolutely perfect and I don't say that lightly. The service was great they literally treat their guests like friends and always ask for your honest opinion on the food and comfort. Our servers were so sweet. The decor itself was so modern and up to date. It's giving family dinner during the day and club at night vibes. P.S: Guapos is so original and authentic. Please don't change the name.
