I used to live in the stoney run area and we loved the Newport news Gus's. Not anymore..It has gotten out of control and has been consistently disappointing every time we go. The service was so bad this time it led me to leave a review which I never do. My husband had to walk up to the bar to order our food, the staff who cooked our food had to bring it out to our table, and our drinks were empty for more than 20 minutes. The jukebox needs to be removed, it is too loud and allows music with profanity.. It's no longer family, date night, or just don't feel like cooking friendly. So disappointing since the new upgrades to the building actually made us hopeful that things were looking up for the place and that they were going to try to match the Yorktown Gus's vibes. Also, I'm all about having your own style but as a working server fishnets, crop tops, and short shorts should not be acceptable. The only consistency is the staff in the back. They always do such a great job with the food. If you want Gus's make the extra effort to drive to Yorktown.

Went there today and sat for thirty minutes waiting for a medium pepperoni pizza that never came. When we got up to leave they tried to blame the kitchen but other customers that came in twenty minutes after us got their food before us, they ordered larger pizzas with more toppings. Then the crew tried to take up for the waitress without even knowing that all she did was take our order and never talk to us again. She went to the table across from us at least five times making sure they were fine but never checked on us. We paid for our drinks and left to never ever return!!
I enjoyed the pizza and the staff is pretty friendly! I definitely recommend trying their food!

All my food was wrong and didn't look delicious at all. My burger didn't have any cheese and came with a handful of bacon bits on it. The Stromboli we ordered had marinara in it so it was very soggy by the time it reached us.
