4.7⭐️My husband wanted a burger, I wanted a gyro.We both ended up with the traditional gyro pita combos, and both of us were stuffed! I didn’t think it would be enough food, but it definitely was, and it was very good. Definitely recommend to anyone looking for good gyros. Maybe I’ll try the salad next time ? Update: tried the Greek gyro salad and man it was good!!!Update: We finally got the Greek salad and man was it worth it! It is a BIG salad, and it comes with some pita bread, definitely worth the money. This will be my new salad place.
No joke, this is amongst best placee to eat in Newport News. It can seat maybe twelve people in a small space and the tables are wobbly, but you won't care about those things. The woman who worked the counter had all her info down pat, was friendly and easy to talk to, and was fast. I very much appreciate that kind of service. But the gyro, my God. It's perfect. The pita is puffed with a good sear, a very fair portion of authentic gyro meat, the tzatziki sauce is devine and, just as importantly, the pita is not drowning in sauce, and the toppings all tasted fresh. The fries are legitimately excellent, too. I'm only in town for work and good thing, because I'd be a regular here if I was local.

The food is amazing and the fries hit the spot every single time. The only downside is the wait time and the exit points (deep slant but they can't help it). The food is definitely worth the wait.

I really enjoyed the optionality in their menu without having it be overwhelming.Also never thought to get sweet potato fries as the base of my gyro bowl. Yum!The space looks very small from outside, but there is a good amount of room if you want to sit in, and lots of outside seating.

No matter how long the line is or how complicated the order or how short staffed they are, Burger & Gyros has the friendliest service and amazing food EVERY SINGLE TIME. Consistently! I always make sure to tip because I'm so impressed. I'm gonna miss this place when I move :/ I always get the lamb burger with a side of tzatziki and an order of dolmades ?

Slow as molasses, I will not be returning because I was trapped in the drive thru for 30 minutes, there's no way to get ou, and then had to waitanother 15 minutes for a salad. The customer service was great though.

So I generally am about 99% vegan but as someone with a Greek uncle whom i used to work for making authentic Gyros, I always said i would cheat on veganism for a really good gyros. And this one was 10000% worth it....fantastic! Greek fries were also on point, the cheeseburger we got for the dogs to split looked spectacular, and the girl at the drive through window was fantastic ( think her name was Alexandra) All in all 10/10...highly recommend!! Thanks to the whole crew.
