Went to try Karaoke. DJ was super nice but sound was not so good. Had a hard time hearing yourself sing which made us sound awful. We aren't the best singers but that didn't help. Good song selection. Waiter was rude and not attentive. The place was not that busy. He never checked on us, we had to flag him down everytime we needed something. Nachos were not good. Had to go to the kitchen ourselves and get forgotten sour cream that comes on the nachos. Will not be going back.

Super disappointed. My husband and I are military, and just moved from TX, just barely moved into our apartment and have zero groceries. Some friends and I just wanted to get food for Christmas and being that their software wouldn't scan our MILITARY ID's they denied us entry. Walked in at 8:30, and their sign says no entry for under 21 after 9pm. Mind you, we are all 24 years old. Everything is closed obviously and this place was the only place open on Christmas. Bad service and zero sympathy. --So the fact that everyone knew we were of age and still denied entry. I don't understand how all our ids scanned minus one. And the spousal ID IS a valid form of ID. The DOB is on there. And actually if we were told about Waffle House we would have gone but we just were told "sorry the ids not scanning, my software isn't scanning it we can't let you in, sorry". Like I said in my other review, please consider updating your software that way military personnel is able to enter your establishment and get a meal on the holidays. And unfortunately no, we were really counting on your bar since it was the closest and most convenient to us.

I ordered 1 double crown with diet and ended up paying $23.43 (including a $3.57 tip).The bartender barely said a word to me, and the 2 gentlemen sitting next to me at the bar were HEAVILY coughing and not covering their mouths. Yeeshhhh$17.50 for 2 crowns is a bit steep for a smokey corner dive bar in Newport News. ??♂️

used to love going to neighbors on weekends and bringing our kids- but since several well known bartenders have left, the 9pm 21 and up went into effect and after the karaoke debacle on Halloween- will not be going to neighbors anytime soon for the foreseeable future!

A cool pleasant place on a hot day. As I walked in I was met by Penny at the bar who welcomes me and makes me feel right at home. She asked me my name and remembered it throughout my time there. Things were quiet and comfortable. There were 3 tables and she addressed all of us and made sure we did not need anything. The food was well prepared and timely. I had the club sandwich which was well proportioned, and, even after the pick was removed, held its shape. I cannot speak for the evening times there but I can highly recommend this establishment for lunch. If you follow my reviews I rarely give 5 stars because it is way over used and usually not sincerely thought out. Highly recommend.
