3.3⭐️We wanted to try a new spot and Shibam Yemeni Kitchen was the choice tonight! And It was an amazing choice! I ordered online for takeout. When I went to pickup the food the woman working said she tried calling me to tell me they didn’t have the soup, or kefta kebab (both of the things my husband wanted?). So I ended up getting the Biryani Chicken and 2 pieces of bread. My husband ended up getting the Chicken Kabob and hummus. We had to sit down and wait, and the woman told us we could get some of the tea they had. It was Adeni tea. Man that tea was so good! They are remodeling the restaurant, and she was telling us what they plan on doing. I took some pictures while we waited since no one was there. We got our food and came home to eat… EVERYTHING WAS AMAZING!!!I’m not sure if the portions are normally this big, we probably could’ve gotten one meal to share between 3 people ? Now we’ll have leftovers for days. Everything was fresh, and amazing! We will definitely be returning to dine in once they finish the inside of the restaurant (she said it will probably be finished in about a week). It was so worth it, it will probably be closer to 5⭐️ when we go dine in. I highly recommend to everyone!Update: So we’ve tried this place about 3-4 times now. My husband loves it… but honestly every single time we’ve come here they don’t have what my husband wants. And I’ll order the food online, and when I get here they tell me that they don’t have it, and ask what else I would like. It’s kind of them to substitute, and then offer things on the house. But I think they should change their menu to reflect what they do actually have. The woman working was saying they need to update google, but the menu inside has the same things. I like the food a lot, but that’s a little frustrating that it’s happened each time we’ve tried them. I still recommend them but I do recommend calling to see what they actually have before ordering.

We finally made it to this place and were not disappointed. We went all out ?. Hummus with bread appetizer, Adeni tea, Lamb broth soup, Chicken Kabsa, Lamb Mandi, and Arika for dessert. Our server, Fatima, was friendly and attentive. Everything we had was delicious, no regrets. We will be returning soon. Please support this local business when you are in the area!

We had Mutapq for appetizer along with Adeni tea - both were delicious! For main dishes we had their Lamb Haneeth, Lamb Mandi, and Chicken Agda. All three were good, my favorites are Haneeth and Agda! The quantity was very good!

I went here about a month ago with my friend. This is quite possibly the best restaurant I've been to in Hampton Roads. Everything about this meal was amazing, including the tea. The lady taking care of us recommended the adeni tea, which is a spiced hot tea, so we ordered that. We ordered the mutapq as our appetizer, lamb fahsa and chicken fahsa as our entrees, and arika for dessert. Everything was 10/10! The portions are very generous and everything tasted amazing. The entrees came with either bread or rice so we ordered one of each and shared. It was enough food for two meals, easily. The restaurant looks like it was just renovated. Everything was very clean and decorated nicely. I will absolutely be back!

Last night my husband, one daughter, and son in law tried this hidden gem for the first time. Ashton Wray loved it! Food was simply amazing. Since we had several folks there, we had the opportunity to try a number of dishes. The salads were fresh and refreshing, with a spritz of lemon. The hummus and baba ghanoush were creamy and delicious. We also tried the soup, which was flavorful and filling. We enjoyed both lamb and chicken dishes which had an amazing blend of spices and seasonings. Spices are not hot, they are subtle and flavorful. The rice that came with the meats were wonderful. They had several condiment style sauces they brought with the dips. And the bread and lemonade mint tea were amazing. I believe our server’s name was Fatima, and she was a delight and really made the evening enjoyable. Also had an opportunity to chat with the owner, Faiz, who has done an outstanding job with the place.
