It’s an off the wall, bright yellow, Beatles themed hole in the wall run by Koreans serving up Korean-American fusion! This small shop is the perfect amount of hardly put together that you just know the food is gonna hit. The owner took my order - after answering that he didn’t have any preferences to the food, and it’s all good, I chose the house special beef bulgogi sub and fried pork mandu. I did not get a combo with the sandwich, but he gave me fries anyway! Which I am very glad he did, because they were great along with everything else! The beef bulgogi sub was a Philly cheesesteak, but with bulgogi beef instead - it was incredible. Salty, savory, fatty, fresh, a hint of sweetness with umami coating my mouth, it was delicious. And the fried mandu were so beautiful and expertly fried, but still delicate to the touch and savory throughout. My food was served up in under ten minutes, before I could even wonder, “Will it be ready soon?” The prices were reasonable, and the owner was happy to serve me. I definitely look forward to trying their wings, chicken sandwich, and authentic Korean dishes as well. I am so happy that I found this, and that it met all my excitement!

Everything I've had here is delicious and portions are significant. The bulgogi is my go to but have loved the cheesesteaks too. The wings are HUGE and delicious. Another solid NOOPA NEWS place to get consistent good food

I have lived in Newport News for a few years now and wish I had discovered this place sooner! It's a small place tucked off the main street with some big flavor! Tried the Korean wings and spicy chicken sandwich and both were very good. The interior is very truly decorated to its name and the owner even had a Yellow Submarine hat! Great service, great food. This place is awesome. Not only Beatles themed but they have arcade games. The food is extremely good too. I recommend original KFC it’s so crunchy most fried chicken isn’t very crunchy anymore but this place has the crunchiest best fried chicken I ever got.

Eh the food looked good on Yelp but when we got there it's an old 7-eleven so we were hesitant. We pulled up and was like "ehhh you know what gas station food be hitting" walked in and it still is a little corner store. Not sure how I feel having backwoods and lottery sold near my food. The food was mid. The chicken was Korean just by look, but was nothing but chicken wings with sweet Thai chili sauce. Don't get me on the bulgogi, it wasn't nothing but Philly steak and had the nerve to have mushrooms and Jalapenos in it. I've lived in Korea and most of Asia, and this is a sad representation of Korean cuisine,

I picked up a DoorDash order from here about a year ago and it smelt really good at the time. Today I decided to get out my comfort zone and finally try their food! I tried their House special which was the Sweet & Mild spicy wings and they were absolutely delicious, it had the right amount of sauce and the presentation was lovely. They even cut the styrofoam container where the steam wouldn’t make the food soggy. The meal also came with napkins as well! I recommend trying their food. Everything was fresh!

The chicken wings were awesome. I also enjoyed my Beef Bulgogi sandwich. Played some pinball while our food was being made. The place is a little hole in the wall. I'm surprised there wasn't a line. I went based on reviews and this place delivered. Solid food.

First time trying their food, it was so delicious and satisfying. The guy that helped me was so friendly and patient. This was my first visit and the guy helped me and answered any questions I had. Food 10/10 I’d recommend you bringing your family here for yummy Korean food!

The Yellow Submarine is awesome. The owner was very nice and honest bc after we paid he realized that he over charged us and he gave us that money back in cash. The beef bulgogi sub was amazing the best sub I have had. The fried mandu was nice and crisp and had a great flavor. The chicken wings and fries were great the fries were nice and crisp with great seasoning and the chicken wings were to die for It had a nice crunch on the outside but it was juicy and tender on the inside and the soy garlic sauce was the best and the sweet and spicy wings were the perfect combination. So please give them a shot bc we will be going again very soon.

Happened to be in Newport News and wanted to try a restaurant on my list. Visited with my bestie not knowing what to expect. We looked over the menu and decided to order the Beef bulgogi with white rice, mandu and the spicy yangnum wings. The beef bolgogi was savory, tender, well marinated and yummy. The rice was steamed nicely and was a great addition. The meal also came with cucumber kimchi which provided great crunch, balance and acidity. I would love to try the spicy one next. The mandu was amazing. The outside was crispy and the filling was hot steamy and fresh, similar to a spring roll. It also came with a sweet soy sauce for dipping. Wings were good but they weren't as crispy as expected. They were well sauced & HUGE. Probably the biggest wings I've seen from the drums to the flats they looked like they could beat me up. All in all I liked this place, the service was kind and quick, the food was good & the atmosphere was charming.
