Ordered ground beef nachos, beef was fatty and of bubble gum consistency. We thought that it might have been reused from a previous customers plate. We sent it back and wanted chicken nachos instead, and this plate had a very small amount of meat and it was served luke warm like the previous nachos plate. The board of health in Norfolk should plan a visit.

Best Tacos I have had since I have been here in Norfolk the last two years 10 out of 10 I would definitely recommend everyone to eat HERE. Everyone is friendly and very inviting. The place was completely clean and well organized. The food is completely fresh and the best Carmen's Restaurant Latin really making me feel like home and reminded me of home.Kid-friendliness: Family environment
Have been a few times and attempt to try something different each time I go. The only issue I've had so far was not being told the birria burrito didn't come with consume and had to be ordered separately. Didn't realize it until I was already home. Other than that, great place.

I don't recommend this place, the food takes a while to serve, they don't have fast staff, the fish I ordered looked like they had frozen it for 4 days.
Good food but they tend to nickle and dime you and that is a turn off especially when the prices are higher than most of their competitors. Don't expect complimentary chips either with those high prices. It's not completely a dealbreaker though but portions aren't all that great and even additional salsa and refills on the tiny basket of chips are going to be extra. The Tamales are outstanding but not consistent. Sometimes they have cheese sauce sometimes not. Restrooms are clean but no place to dry your hands each time I've been so you'll have to use your shirt or pants (or not wash them). This kind of thing worries me because I have to wonder, what does the staff do?

My wife and I went here for dinner after a friend recommended it. We were told the restaurant was both Mexican and Salvadoran but DO NOT ORDER the Mexican as you know, you can get that around here, anyway... We order 2 appetizers and 2 mains... Our food was not only different but delicious! A different kinda of salsa that was fresh and tasty but we ordered 3 kinds of Pupusas and each were fresh and fantastic!
