I love love love coach house! This is me and my husbands favorite spot for dinner. We love grabbing a seat at the bar for something a little more casual or a table for a little bit more romantic. The service there is always top notch, no matter who you get. The espresso martinis are the best in town! The wine list is great, and there’s always a good beer on tap. The charcuterie boards are incredible and you get so much for the price! Everything we’ve eaten here has been fantastic, from a simple burger to the short rib ravioli. I couldn’t recommend coach house enough

Good food but too expensive. Parking is a nightmare. NightmareParking: Small parking lot. Flooded side streets. Very difficult to find safe parking.

The menu is great, but what brings me back over and over again above every other place and Norfolk is the service. Seriously , this is the first and only place that I consider.

First timer! Never knew this place existed. I was here for a holiday work dinner. We had a great time! I like how you can make reservations and that there is parking on the street or in their small parking lot. They have a very nice drink and cocktail menu. The dinner menu was pretty good, too! So many drinks that I wanted to try! For an appetizer, I had their Oysters Rockefeller (no picture) -4 very good and big in sized ones. My entree was just ok. I think I would've preferred the short rib shredded and not in cubes. There was so much of the meat and not much if the gnocchi, I ended up just setting them off to the side. I didn't have room for dessert, but I know I'll be back! The service was ok for a party of 8. No complaints! Thank you Coach House!

Coach House is an amazing place to grab a meal. We were able to make a reservation for 10 and they were very accommodating when a few didn’t show. The charcuterie was put together really well on a Virginia-shaped cutting board. The meats were great and paired nicely with the cheeses, grain mustard, peanuts, and raisins. I ordered the bison meatloaf and it was right there with meatloaf in taste and quality that I’ve had in the past in Wyoming. The root vegetables were perfectly seasoned and cooked. My only complaint would have been there was way too much crispy onions on top. For dessert I got the cherry tart and white chocolate bread pudding and it was one of the best desserts I’ve ever had. Elizabeth A. did a great job with the service as did the back of the house.Parking: The parking lot is free but very small. Street parking is limited due to other restaurants/businesses in the area.

I don't know why but it took 5 years for us to try this place even though my family and I live 3 minutes away from this place. 5 years wasted!! Drinks:I ordered Midnight Cowboy to start the night, and it had an amazing aroma and was not too strong. At the end of the meal, my husband ordered Tiramisu martini. I'm not usually a fan of sweet cocktail, but this one was not too sweet and was a nice way to end the meal. Snack:As a started I ordered Oyster Rockefeller - no complaints! The oysters were nice size, and the other ingredients did not overwhelm the oysters. For my main dish, I ordered Dry Pack Scallops, which came out PERFECTLY cooked. If you're foodie (or know about cooking), you understand how difficult it is to cook scallops perfectly. The sauce on the side had deep flavor, but it was not masking scallops. The chef came out to check on how the first scallops of the season was, so I complimented the chef for the perfection right then! My husband ordered Baby Back Ribs, and they were super tender and fell off the bones. Atmosphere:The interior was dimmed, and I found it very cozy (older folks, don't forget your light and reading glasses... lol).Service:The server was very attentive and friendly. The only flaw was, she checked on our table too often for my liking, but she was very nice! Highly recommend :)

My husband and I came here randomly for dinner one evening and WOWZERS!! So glad we stopped by!! I don't even know where to start I was impressed by everything from the second we walked in all the way until we left and walked out with all the staff saying bye to us.First their bar is GORGEOUS. The restaurant dining area is pretty too. We sat at the bar, and my husband was dressed in work clothes and had his laptop. No one judged us. Smiling faces everywhere. Staff loved their jobs and you could tell. Staff knew a lot of the clientele already and was already making their drinks before the people even fully sat down. Great bartender he was so intelligent, well-spoken and knew the menu well. He gave us several recommendations we got the crab dip & oysters rockafeller. I got a special dish from the Chefs specials a braised pork belly with soba noodles and it was tasty ? Hubby got the lobster rolls and fries!! Ok let's stop right here and talk about the FRIES!!! Yes you heard me right, the fries. That is hands down the best tasting REAL potato batchmade/homemade fries I've ever had, reminds me of boardwalk fries. These are chefs recipe fries, not your run-of-the mill frozen fries. The care, the work and the effort is there and you can taste the difference. It was perfectly fried and crisp. The seasonings on them were delicious! So good, that we ordered an extra order of just fries alone LolThe menu is pricey but think of the food quality. Glassware, plates and utensils are beautiful to look at, touch and eat from. Parking is limited since it's in Norfolk and I recommend making reservations unless you beat the crowds. I can't wait to go back here again for another date night with hubby. Next time he will dress a bit nicer to match with the pretty people who come in here.Kid-friendliness: It's more of an adult establishment than kid-friendly

For my friend's birthday dinner, we decided on Coach House Bar & Grill since it was a restaurant she's been wanting to try for a while. Once we arrived, we noticed that the parking lot was fairly small but thankfully we were able to find parking on the street on the next block up. We arrived around 7:30p on a Saturday and were able to be seated right away. The host was very friendly and directed us to a high top table in the bar area. Unfortunately, those tables weren't the most comfortable so they happily escorted us to a nearby booth. Our server, Marie, was wonderful and helped us choose some really good drinks. For starters, we decided on the Warm Gulf Shrimp Scampi Dip which was very delicious. The only downside was the size, it was more of a single serving than a shareable item.As we looked over the menu to decide what to eat for dinner, it took us quite a while. Unfortunately, nothing really stood out as appealing but my friend decided on the Sesame Chicken Skewers (a "safe choice" in her words lol) while I chose the Puppy Drum which was pan fried puppy drum fish that was served with cheese grits & grilled asparagus on a crawfish creole cream sauce. The food came out pretty quickly and my friend enjoyed her skewers but opted not to eat the noodles. My meal was flavorless with the exception of the cream sauce. Once I was able to add salt, pepper and hot sauce, it gave it some flavor. The grits were alright but I would have preferred mashed potatoes but the fish was fried very well and that cream sauce was absolutely delicious. Overall, it was a fun experience trying a new restaurant. My friend was able to choose a complimentary dessert for her birthday so she decided on the Pineapple Upside Down Bread Pudding. It was a tad bit sweet but tasted pretty good. Our server was amazing and I enjoyed the relaxed ambiance but I'm sure it will be a while before I return.

Perfect for an anniversary or special occasion. The servers know what to recommend and are very knowledgeable about the menu. The food, we’ve never had anything to eat where our reaction wasn’t totally satisfied. The menu is also well balanced with familiar items as well as new foods. Atmosphere is also geared to be comfortable and conversations are easy. Parking is a little rough but so is most of Norfolk. This is our go to for a nice upscale dinner.
