This restaurant is absolutely unprofessional, considering that they are biased with its customers. I don’t recommend any person of color to eat at this establishment. Me & my family waited 2 hours for cold and burnt food, not to mention one of the waitresses and managers were rude. Within the time we were waiting for our food, one of my family members put his head down & the waitress told him that he needs to put his head up and that we don’t do that here. The entire experience here was ridiculous, I will not be back.

My family and I went out to dinner at this restaurant yesterday for Mother's Day. While the atmosphere was nice, the service was terrible. We waited over an hour in a half our food and when we asked about it, the manager was rude and unhelpful. Despite having a reservation for 8:30 PM, we only received our drinks within the allotted time. The manager scolded my little brother who is 15 for having his head down, citing an ABC law even though he wasn't drinking. The staff seemed confused, mixing up orders and serving us burnt and cold food. The manager showed little concern for our dissatisfaction and didn't offer a solution until we insisted on returning the food. Despite this, we tried to salvage the evening but left hungry and disappointed. I wouldn't recommend this restaurant for large parties, as they seemed understaffed and incapable of handling the workload. It's not family-friendly and better suited for solo diners or couples, though even then, expect long wait times and poor service.

Honestly for the price there is 10x better food. The reasturaunt was barely busy and we waited over an hour for our entres. Service was seriously slow and unknowledgeable about their own menu. Plus for a table of three 18% gratuity should not be automatically added.

The atmosphere was amazing. The music was on theme and not too loud. The drinks were awesome. The food was average, not bad but not amazing. We had brunch, which was basic, but I think the price was a bit expensive for brunch, which was mostly Ala cart. In addition, the time between placing our order to getting our meals was close to 45 minutes and the food was not hot, just warm. Will return for drinks and the vibes.

I love Gershwins. I have been there before and it was wonderful. This Mother's Day experience was not up to their standards. The food was good but the potatoes on all of our plates were burned . The biggest problem was the service. It was subpar. Here is the reason, when you know that on every ticket you are automatically receiving 18% tip , why would you work for it. The tip was not deserved. I will gladly give a 18-20% tip if it is earned, has it was on our previous visits. This is a bad practice. The live music lasted 30 minutes of the hour and 1/2 we were there. My family are all professional musicians and appreciate live music. My children drove 2 hours to Gershwins because I love it so much. We were all very disappointed. I will give it another try for dinner and live music and hopefully they will be back to their wonderful service and great music they has in the past.

Reserving a table for brunch on Mother's Day was very easy using Open Table! Gershwin's combination of Live piano with a classic, elegant ambiance was a perfect setting for brunch. Casual attire is still welcome. Seating is a little tight and unfortunately the patio wasn't open during our visit. The drinks were good and the food was tasty but food service was slow! From the time we sat and ordered food for the 4 of us until food arrived was about 45 minutes! For context, the restaurant wasn't full, maybe at 75% capacity

So I'd like to tell you about our awful experience today. The food took an extremely long time to come out. When it did come out 1 persons food was incomplete. Missing eggs, and smashed potato's. When those eventually came another 25 mins later they were cooked incorrectly. Most of the food was burnt especially the bacon. The fruit bowl was slimy and inedible. See pictures

Service was very slow. It took 35 minutes or so for me to get a bourbon neat. That being said, they did bring the food out at appropriate times and didn't have us sitting in front of an appetizer and a salad at the same time. The dinner was very bland though. I wouldn't recommend this place. Oh! Also, automatic 18% gratuity which I don't like. I normally tip at least 20% but these servers clearly weren't trying to earn an extra tip.

We walked in to live piano music, nice touch. Surrounded by a beautiful bar with a HUGE whiskey/bourbon selection. We sit down and order drinks. The bartender made a sex on the beach and old fashioned for us, both were good. I got the gumbo and my wife the Alfredo. Both also very good. Would return.

My family and I had brunch at Gershwin's on Sunday. The food was amazing, I had the crab and asparagus quiche, the crust was so flaky and light and it was full of crab. My boys had the eggs casserole and the shrimp and scallop omelette. Both were very pleased and the serving size was substantial. My husband had the steak bowl, which was huge. We all had a mimosa, which they have like 8 different flavors. I was pleasantly surprised they had live music. We will definitely return.

Just delightful. We had the Duck, Short Rib, and the Steak Au Poivre. ABSOLUTELY full of delicious flavors. We did not get bar drinks here, as we brought a bottle of wine to have with dinner. Our server Mina was fantastic. We will be coming again.

Great Service great atmosphere. The only negative is the lack of decaf coffee. As someone who cannot have caffeinated beverages this is frustrating in resteurants. Why not have keurig available just for that 1 or 2 cups per night with desserts.Vegetarian options: Nice to see a truly vegan option on the menu.

Always a neat place to go due in large part to the art deco environment. The live music is always a big plus. We hadn't eaten there in a while (often just sit at the bar for a drink before or after a show), but I was pleasantly surprised how reasonable the prices were. Much lower than similar fare in both Norfolk and Virginia Beach. Drinks as well. A cocktail was about $13 compared to $18 at other places on Granby or the Oceanfront. My meal was really good (gumbo).

I was very disappointed in the place. It took an hour for us to get our food to us. I got the filet mignon which was supposed to be served with "mixed vegetables", also it was supposed to be medium rare. When my food came my mouth dropped it had the filet with 6 small asparagus and that was it, like where was the mixed vegetables, the filet was well done and tough it was $45 dollars! for this punny portion. my friend who got a pork chop had rare parts in his. We also got dessert... avoid if you want to spend $$ on store bought cake. My friends got the creme Brule and when torched they burned them... we weren't ones to complain but i definitely will never recommend this place.
