First time trying this spot and I was taken advantage of with pricing ( because the receipt had completely different prices around 7 to 8 dollars more than what was posted on their menu) and with the food I was given a mix whatever they had back there completely different from what I ordered it had lamb and chicken and two different sauces completely different colors in the same container when I ordered the okra stew

The fish fataya was tasty but aesthetically unappealing. As you can see from the photos, some were burnt. However, the Thieboudienne, was quite delicious. I couldn't stop eating it. The family owned business, which is Senegalese (Wolof) is filled with all things related to family. With that said, the brother and sister who greeted me and my daughter were exceptionally gracious and friendly. Will definitely be back.

The food was really good, but there was a lot of drama going on in the back and it was very loud. I wasn't very comfortable. And they were talking in a different language that we couldn't understand which was kinda good because I didn't really wanna hear it. Me and my mother they were yelling like they were in a. Nallywood movie and it was hard for us to eat because it was so loud and we heard crying and banging on pots but the food was very good but I would never come back. but my mother will.

LarderRoom...Lillys Corner is such a hidden gem in Norfolk. If you know you know. Everything is fresh and made to order. It's one of the only places I know of to get African food in Hampton Roads. If there is a special, get it. Look for the whole snapper or the dibi grilled lamb (or chicken). They also have some great homemade drinks. Enjoy.Parking: There is limited parking. If you come as a group, carpool. It's worth it.

This place was decent had 2 orders of db lamb with Jollof and plantain. The db was juicy and the plantain were cool. This is a Senegalese restaurant so I expected the Jollof not to be as good. The Jollof lacked flavor and 0 spice. However over all a solid choice if you not coming for jollof, like I usually do! Filling portions as well!

The guy was rude. The food was burnt because he was not paying attention. Service was slow. I ended up throwing my food away. I will never eat there again. I wasted my money. How you have a restaurant and you say you don’t have a restroom.

I have DoorDashed Lilly's Corner twice now. Delicious!! I ordered the Red Snapper each time for my Mother. I ordered the lamb, the chicken . The sautéed onions and slightly cooked onions are just plain good. The food is hot and fresh upon delivery. And the portions are enough for 2-3 servings. I'm portion controlling my meals ,so the food is just right for that. Will definitely be ordering again.

I walked into this restaurant to pick up a friend. I had just bought my food from another restaurant. I tasted his food and winded up ordering for myself and sticking my food from the other restaurant in the refrigerator for lunch tomorrow. The lamb is amazing. It is tender with a flavorful grilled taste. The nems are incredible. They are like little eggrolls. But, they are better. Then, they give you this sauce to pour in them. Off the chain. This is the first time that I have eaten authentic African food. I am won over!Revised 9-8-2023I see that there are different reviews for this establishment. If I paid attention to the bad reviews, I would miss out on great food. My favorite is the joloff rice, grilled lamb dibi and nems egg rolls. Moreover, the tall slim gentleman is always nice to me. Just try for yourself. If you don’t like it, don’t go back. But, don’t just go by the negative reviews. Everyone have different experiences.Kid-friendliness: My son likes the restaurant.
