Disappointed with Changes at Panera Bread Norfolk-Janaf Shopping CenterI recently visited Panera Bread in Norfolk and was disappointed to learn that they discontinued curbside pickup for mobile orders. Unlike the Virginia Beach location, there's no drive-thru option available. This inconvenience has affected my overall experience, and I hope the management considers bringing back these services for the convenience of loyal customers. For now I will support the Virginia Beach store.

The service here is really excellent, but this is now the second Panera location in which I’ve seen a German cockroach! It was just strolling across the floor and under the bench in the waiting area for orders. I’m starting to wonder how many other Panera locations have serious pest problems. Their regional and corporate managers really need to get a handle on this.
Service was slow and the young lady making the food was constantly using profanity and everyone heard her. When I complained to the manager, she shouted “Richard hates us!” She was extremely unprofessional and disruptive to customers.

It's a Panera Bread, so the service and food are good. The only downside of this location is it's proximity to Janaf and Military Circle. Homeless from the area often buy a soda and stay warm. On my last visit, one such person made my eyes water with the scent of urine that lingered after he shambled by.

Service is extremely slow at this location. Placed online order while in the restaurant for one baked item. After 30 minutes when I asked about my order I was told "it's ready" sitting on the counter not in the rapid pick up area, this was while staff were simply standing around, app said it was in the pick up area. Pretty dirty restaurant during a non peak time 3PM. Hot water for tea, etc. had to wait and ask for hot water, had to wait in line for hot water.

I do enjoy their breakfast food I eat there quite a pit and get the oatmeal. It’s always fresh fruits and tastiness.On the other hand, the coffee is terrible. I spend basically the same amount I would at Starbucks for a coffee but with an extra shot.So that’s three shots of espresso, but it tastes like watered down drip coffee. Disappointing spending this much on food and coffee and the only part I really needed, I end up wishing I just would’ve made coffee at home
