Made reservations for Saturday, 03 Feb. 2024, for lunch to celebrate birthday before seeing Dial M for Murder at Va Stage Co and the restaurant was closed. They sent us a reminder text on 02 Feb of the reservation. No sign on the door but recording states it is closed indefinitely.

My waitress tried her best to help ! The truffle fries were cold and didn’t taste like truffles and had fried oyster in it. My steak looked like a pork chop with no lines in it .

I truly wish there was an option for zero stars.I was supposed to be attending a (40th) birthday dinner celebration here at 6pm yesterday evening, but that didn't pan out. This dinner for 8 was scheduled and confirmed weeks ago with no issues; yet when we arrived, we all ended up standing out on the rain (in dresses & heels) looking crazy - because the place was CLOSED. I don't mean they left early for the day, I mean they had the windows covered up & random signs on the door like they had BEEN closed & might not be opening back up.This was irritating of course, but also confusing, since the restaurant owner/manager was responding to messages as late as 4pm yesterday. This would have been our first time coming here, but looking at the previous reviews, I'm not at all surprised. This was bad business all around, & could very well have ruined an important birthday celebration. LUCKILY....Leone's was right down the street, & not only did they immediately accomodate us, but the food and the service was outstanding.I'm going to call this divine intervention, since (according to reviews) Prime has roaches and bad service. Two thumbs down.

We were excited to tey Prime 255 for the 1st time. The atmosphere is very chic.  It's a very small intimate setting with only a few tables and upstairs setting as well. We ordered appetizers: crab dip, bruschetta, and Yakitori.  Crab dip was salty and tasted like something out of a can served with a barely fresh Baguette. Bruschetta was just ok, but the vinaigrette wasn't homemade.  Yakitori was surprisingly very bland.Main dish: steak, shrimp & crab pastaSteak was sent back because it wasn't prepared at the right temperature. The pasta was bland. My main complaint is the food. No one enjoyed the food. Everything tasted like a pre-made microwavable meal. Our waitress/server wasn't knowledgeable about the menu and inattentive.  Just another restaurant with overpriced mediocre food.

So I ordered the The James Hemming Mac and cheese in the skillet . So the gave it to me in a bowl which was the $7 Mac and cheese side and sprinkled crab meat upon it . So I politely expressed my concern to my waitress and she tried to correct it they just took my order what I sent back and put it in a skillet as you see this dish was priced $17..so needless to see I will not be ordering this again. As in previous review the fryer was broken so I could not order the wings and other items from the appetizer menu. Was disappointed i want to support African Business but we must do better . I am so disappointed

beautiful inside and had a real nice calm atmosphere, the service was absolutely horrible. I would’ve gave one star if the food wasn’t decent. It was around Christmas so you’d expect it to be slammed busy with families from out of town or newbies like us. But it was very quiet and slow, which isn’t a good sign for a Saturday night. At the beginning the service seemed okay when it was 2 out of the 4 that were first there. They made the birthday girl wait until the whole party of 4 showed up which was upsetting because again it was slow. Probably only two other tables at the moment. They finally let her sit and her and I ordered our drinks and everything seemed ok. The other two showed up and that’s immediately when it started going down hill. He took forever for their alcoholic drinks and when they came out it wasn’t even presented in the same way as mine which I happened to have ordered the same drink too. So they had to wait for him to get the toppings which took even longer to the point where they just said forget it. We took our picture after waiting for 10+ minutes. The drinks were okay. Definitely on the pricy side for a small amount but the flavor was still good just seemed to lack a good amount of liquor. (A shore thing drink) The fryers were out which was strange for a weekend. So not able to get what we truly wanted. We ordered the crab dip and bruschetta which were delicious and perfect to share with 4 ladies. Sadly we couldn’t even finish our appetizers before the entrees started being rushed out. So unsatisfying as the tables were already small and limited so to pile on extra bigger plates made it such a hassle as we had to stop eating our appetizers just to get rid of them in order to have room for our entrees. I asked the server why did he not space the order out so we could have time to enjoy the apps (which was only for like 5 mins) and then put in the order for the entrees separately so we can catch up. He quickly rebutted that we were the ones that give him our orders at once. Wow. First of all we waited so long for him to check on us so by the time we placed our orders we were ready. The menu isn’t that huge to have to sit there and decipher. So it’s our fault we had to hawk you down to get proper service and once we decide to place our order, you as a server can’t calculate how quick the food is coming out to allow us space between our courses and so you quickly blame the customer? He agreed. That’s all I needed to hear. I’ve been a server at Carrabba’s for 10 years. Nothing as fancy as where we dined at this night, and I am capable of spacing my customers orders out so they can truly enjoy their meals and not feel rushed or faulted as if they are in control of what us servers put in the system. So basically just a horrible cop out from a server that’s already getting gratuity for his service no matter how horrible it is. We ordered the salmon which was good but it needed a sauce to go along with it which we luckily had previously scooped the crab dip on top of it which made it amazing. The other two ordered the lamb chops which sadly weren’t as appetizing since they were on the small side leaving them still hungry. The flavor was there though. So to end the experience not to put shade on anyone but for a fancy place like this you’d expect the service to be on point, the food and I also wouldn’t expect my server to also be musky like they need deodorant. People should take better pride in their jobs and maybe he was just having a bad day in general. But for it to be our first time and it was a special night we expected a lot better. He could’ve mentioned to the manager about our experience so we could feel better about it all or for them to hear how our night went but nothing. I didn’t want to honestly say another word to him after that last exchange.. Maybe the service is what runs the customers away because it doesn’t matter how good the cook is at that point, people need to provide good customer service still especially if they automatically get a 20% tip.

Do not recommend this restaurant. Horrible experience. First, I wanted to order a drink that had lavender in it. They said they didn't have lavender. I got something different. Then they said that their fryer was down so there were about half the appetizers unavailable. Ordered the bruschetta and the bread was not toasted. The spinach dip was overcooked and hard on top. Also, they didn't give enough bread/toast for the dip. The chicken skewers had sweet baby rays BBQ on them. They weren't bad though, but they could have made their own sauce. Smh. My friend order chicken....came out as a grilled chicken breast with Sweet Baby Rays BBQ on it again. Also, she had a house salad and the Italian dressing was Kraft or Wishbone. It was definitely a store bought salad dressing. Smh. Only thing that was ok was the piece of salmon and the drinks. To top it off...a roach crawled up the wall behind me. I killed it because I was afraid it might fall on me or someone else. This has to be the worst dining experience I have ever had. DO NOT RECOMMEND!AN: I have food poisoning and so does my friend. Been vomiting and diarrhea all day!!! Horrible restaurant!! Gonna call the health department.

My food wasn't the greatest.I had to send it back my lamb chops they were burnt and hard. Drinks was good. The fryer was down so we barely could order anything off the appetizer menu. Our waiter Terrell was excellent.

Let me say I had high hopes for this place but instead left highly unsatisfied and disappointed. I booked prime 255 for my birthday dinner in December and I most likely will not be returning. Upon entering the decor is pleasing, the waiter was great (definitely couldve used another waiter for the front area but nonetheless the young man made it happen). When ordering appetizers, we were told the fryer was down which eliminated a very heft portion of the menu. Attempted to order the pan seared scallops, was told they didn't have any. Ordered two of the crab and spinach dip apps...one came out hot the other not so much. The Mac n cheese was cold, the lamb chops were burnt, the shrimp and crab pasta wasn't bad. The best dishes of the night were the brown butter mashed potatoes and the side ceaser salad. I was embarrassed for the establishment and felt like a fool for inviting my guests here for my birthday dinner. Next time, please inform guests up front what's unavailable and if the fryers are down there has to be an alternative menu or option. I was rooting for Prime and they really let me down.

If you are going for cute aesthetics then this is your place. The restaurant is not huge which is ok for a downtown city location. Our server was a delight…seemed nervous but offered great service. The food and drink which I was most excited about because whoever runs their social media makes it look like the place to go however I was not thrilled. We had 6pm reservation for 6, celebrating a birthday. So we ordered drinks first, they wore good. Not the best but not horrible. We were not informed until we are about to order food that the fryer was down and anything on the menu that was fried could not be ordered, mind you the menu is not big so options were limited. I feel like a table that had a reservation should have been informed before arrival. So we were scrambling to find other food options on the menu…we attempted to order a different and we were told they were out, leaving us with maybe 4 app options. We place our orders (apps and entrees) and waiting. One app out of the 3 ordered were dropped off at the table and then two entrees came. So ticket timing was awful. Then another another app arrived then one more entrée. The lamb chops were burned as well as the Mac and cheese arriving not warm to the table so we had to send the meal back for that person to decide that she will just dine on mash potatoes until after we leave the establishment. Also to mention the food looks nothing like it pictures to look. I expected much more from this establishment. The other items arrived to the table uneventfully. But some of us were finishing our food and ready for boxes when another app and other food was being dropped to the table. I expected much more from this establishment especially based on pricing and food items and I was let down to the point where I’m uncomfortable recommending this place to friends.

I went this establishment last night because I have been trying to go for sooooooo long but it was very disappointing…. The atmosphere was soooo NICE !!!but the service and food was a MAJOR DISAPPOINTMENT… now I have heard the reviews from family and friends but I wanted to check for myself because I love food, but the Mac and cheese was dry, mashed potatoes were grainy and they ran out of food!!! But the wings and lamb chops were Great however our server was busy taking pictures with friends outside versus making sure we were ok … I am all for black business being that I am a black business Owner myself so I am all about lifting businesses up because we NEED BLACK BUSINESSES so I would say get better cooks and serves so you guys can continue to stay in business for the long haul

This place looks amazing! And I will say Jordan was very nice and courteous. But management has made the decision to limit the menu and it’s problematic for my group of 8….we came expecting lunch on a Saturday and was limited to a small brunch menu (but the menu says SUNDAY brunch) until 3.., at 3 you can only order appetizers and then around 6 they will let you order everything else. I asked for an exception as it’s seriously no one in here and was told no…the ladies bathroom doesn’t have a lock on the stall…. Very disappointed in this black business… we flew from Texas and got the Atlanta restaurant experience in Norfolk
