I'll keep it short and sweet. It was okay and just okay for multiple reasons but more so because of the service. Everyone has a off day but I came on a Monday, very slow wasn't greeted made my way to the bar took forever to be acknowledged and then rushed off without asking if I wanted or needed anything else and handed my check. The food was decent I ordered the smoked chicken wings naked and a side of Mac and cheese. I could appreciate the homemade ranch and blue cheese. The wings weren't that flavorful but had potential. The Mac I'd get again. Looks nice on the inside but the vibes just weren't there for me. Maybe I'll give it another try one day but no time soon.

I almost never leave reviews, but this is a special case -- charged for no food. My spouse went here for a work lunch. Two of the party had not been served food after an hour of being seated, despite repeated inquiries. Eventually they told the waitress they needed their food to go, and paid for it. Still no food. Told her they needed to leave in 15 minutes. Still no food. Two hours after being seated, as they were getting up to leave, STILL NO FOOD. But they were offered gift cards for the amount they had paid for nothing! As though they would ever go back! It remains to be seen if the restaurant refunds the money, but nothing they do will ever get our business again.

Delicious food, great service and reasonable prices. Everthing was plated well and served hot.

I always enjoy something different, and The Fishing Pig fits that criteria. I mean, whoever thought to pair seafood and bar-b-que? It is located close to downtown Norfolk. The restaurant/sports bar is very spacious. There are lots of TV monitors, and you can see one no matter where you sit. Table service is what you get after the hostess seats you. The tables are covered with paper because depending on what you get, things can get messy. The menu options are complete. You can get a seafood dish, BBQ, or mix. They have kids options also, but I recommend bringing them early cause at night, it's more of an adult environment. Service is amazing. These servers are experienced, friendly, and always available for you. Make sure you tip them nicely if you can. This place has a dive feel to it but is family-friendly. Highly recommend it Happy Yelping!

We’ve been here several times, and as usual, the atmosphere, service and food did not disappoint! We started out with smoked wings and fried pickles. The wings were flavorful, and the fried pickles were very tasty. We ordered the pork and catfish with green beans and jalapeño cornbread. We also ordered the Bang Bang shrimp with hush puppies. Our food looked good and tasted even better. Maddie was our server. It was a pleasure to make her acquaintance again! Always a wonderful experience when we go to the Fishin Pig!

The brisket is not bbq. It had no smoke ring of any kind. It had no flavor and it was cold. It was roast beef. My wife agreed and said "it was bad." Nice atmospere but we won't be going back.

My husband went here with friends and brought a plate home for me. He said the service and vibe was great, but his fish tacos were disappointing, with small little chunks of ahi that made it feel more like leftovers.I ordered the 1/2 pint of brisket with a side of the Texas and Carolina sauces. I have never had brisket so fatty or so flavorless. I wasn’t expecting a ton of brisket for $15 but I also wasn’t expecting half the container to be fat. It was tender/moist, but I would hope so since it was sitting in a puddle of liquid fat too.At first I tried to give them benefit of the doubt that maybe it was an off day and wouldn’t have reviewed at all, but after reading all of the comments from the past saying the same thing I think it warrants a review. With budgets tightening going out to eat is more of a luxury than ever and people should get their moneys worth. I’m not sure that The Fishin’ Pig is delivering customers their moneys worth. The Texas sauce was good and definitely delivered a kick of heat along with the tomatoey flavor but the Carolina vinegar left me a little confused. It wasn’t bad but I didn’t get Carolina bbq from it.
