Very cute place. Lots of parking and easy to find. Decor is nice. Nice comfortable seating. Country music playing. Very far right news on the TV with the volume on mute and no captions thankfully. I ordered the sausage and gravy biscuits with potatoes and scrambled eggs plus a sweet tea. Tea was sweet. Biscuits were big and fluffy and the gravy was good. The potatoes were under seasoned but cooked well. The eggs were under cooked in parts. I would eat here again. The food tastes homemade.

We went for brunch.... food was good. My son's chicken tenders were practically entire chicken breasts..... the fries and home fries were nice and crispy. The decor was cute and inviting and prices were on par. We will definitely be back to try other items.

The atmosphere and the waitress were great, but two of the 3 orders in my party came out wrong. For one of those orders, the person ordered crab cakes instead of bacon with their meal but bacon was sent out with the meal instead of crab cakes. The staff did attempt to fix the issue, but rubbed us the wrong way in the process. When doing so, they actually brought a plate from the back to take the TWO pieces of bacon back from our party. TWO pieces. They said if we wanted to keep the bacon we could pay for it. Now, I do understand that people may scam for food and so maybe this is what they were trying to prevent. However, it was two pieces of bacon that THEY sent out as mistake on their part, and we are certainly no scammers. Instead of potentially comping it out and acknowledging the inconvenience, they actually took it back. That was such an insult and could have definitely been handled better.

The food is great but you need to tell them two pieces of toast onions in the hash browns and salsa with the western omelettes. So in other words you have to add your own stuff because they won’t know to bring it if you don’t order it.

Searched for a breakfast spot as I was visiting my hometown and thought I’d give Southern Taste Diner a try. Easy to find. Was a little confusing upon opening door to restaurant as their was a huge foam board sign up on an easel stand about Humana that greeted me in the vestibule. Not sure why that is there? The next door opening leads to seating area but first your eyes meet the bar so I was a little turned around. No signage to say seat yourself and finally someone came to say sit anywhere you like. Was presented with two menus in a crumpled plastic sleeve. (I was a bit turned off by that)Coffee seemed fresh and hot. I went with the biscuits and gravy with over medium eggs. Aesthetically the way the food was plated was unappealing including the plate, HOWEVER eggs were made correct to order and biscuits were hot and fluffy and tasted good. Two large biscuits open faced with a huge amount of gravy ladled over top. I should’ve asked for one biscuit as it was a lot of food!No one came to check on me until I was done with my meal.I gave it 3 stars for my own experience all together. Place is a bit dark and gloomy on the inside with mismatched decor. It has a lot of potential as far as atmosphere goes. In other words would be lovely if place didn’t feel so gloomy and gray and if it had a more cozy feel to it.When I go out to eat, the food is super important but so is the atmosphere.

We have dined here twice and will return again. I like that they have a different menu each day and have many meals that remind me of our dinners growing up.Wheelchair accessibility: Plenty of tables on street level.

I got the 2 hotdogs. Tasty but the bread was dry and almost crumbly. The Lima beans were good. However, as I’m eating I’m watching the staff sit around a table and roll up silverware in napkins. They are eating their lunch at the same time. They are handling food and licking their fingers of ketchup and still rolling up silverware. Even touch the forks where your mouth goes. Also stopping and handling money when checking out a customer. Never washing their hands. If your going to handle things that goes into your mouth or wipe your mouth with you should wash your hands. With that said I will not return.
