I was in town for military work and was craving some soul food. The gentlemen that took my order was so thoughtful when I had told him I hadn't had good soul food because I'm living in California. He then let the head chef know my situation, soon after the chef personally presented me with my food. Highly recommend this place, extremely polite and thoughtful and very military friendly. The food was absolutely delicious! 10/10!!

Oh. My. GOSH!! Chef Carlton is a genius! Everything we tried was AMAZING! The beef brisket, fried chicken, collard greens, fried collard greens, smoked Mac n' cheese & mashed potatoes with gravy, Pineapple cake & sweet potato walnut cake was all absolutely AMAZING!!! Will def be back!

So delicious! The chef and server were welcoming and hospitable, and the food was all 10/10. Mac n cheese balls as big as your fist, tasty smoked meat, and flavorful fried chicken! The best side of green beans I've had at any southern joint.

Super cute place to eat in the heart of the city.The staff is very nice and take their job seriously. I had the fish sandwich and fries.if I had more time I would have ordered another one to go. I had a side of Mac&Cheese and it was good hot and creamy . If your ever in VA fort Lee area and looking for soul food you have to eat here it’s a MUST !!
❤️ It's not often I crave fried food, but when I do, I think I've found my spot! Fried chicken was well seasoned and so good! Never had fried collards before & I'm sure the nutritional value is next to none- lol- ...but what a treat that was! Friendly& welcoming service too! Check them out & support locally! Southern food requires patience so slow some extra time. I've made a few return trips so definitely worth the visit. I can say yes to the Mac and cheese, greens, ribs (easy sauce), pulled pork and definitely the fried chicken.

I had TaBon's for lunch today. I was very much disappointed. First of all, I have eaten there a couple of times before and the food was delicious. Today, the potato salad tasted nasty. There was some off-taste to the potato salad. The smoked chicken was over-cooked and the fried collards were fried too hard, almost too hard to chew. I'm not writing this review to be critical but I know you can do better, I have had the food before.

My daughter and had to go in. The smell of bbq gave us immediate hunger pains. The men were so professional and welcoming. They apologized for being short handed but they really didn't take long to bring our food (Which was WONDERFUL!). Definitely going back.
