We’ve been here a few times and always enjoyed it but our most recent experience left a bad taste in our mouths. We asked the bartender Alex for the late night hot dog. He responded begrudgingly that it would take a while bc he hadn’t even turned on the machine to cook them and also that they closed in 40 minutes, so he wasn’t planning on turning it on. We were both disappointed bc we felt that 40 minutes wasn’t necessarily long enough to justify not serving us the food but said it’s fine bc we didn’t want to inconvenience him. We both then felt a very standoffish energy from him the rest of the time we were there. He was friendly and open with every other person that came in but (at least what seemed like) deliberately averted our gaze the entire time to the point where we were trying to close out for a while & couldn’t get his attention bc of how strongly he was ignoring us, all the while he’s taking shots w other customers next to us. Idk we’ve both worked in food service so we get it but the whole thing felt very uncool. Not only acting like 40 minutes was too much of an inconvenience to make 2 hotdogs on a little machine but following that up w/ this bizarre hostile energy the rest of the time. Felt weird, very uncool, didn’t appreciate. I hope it isn’t like this next time bc we usually love coming here!

Stopped by the Black Lodge after a terrarium class in the neighborhood for a drink before dinner. The place had great ambiance, drinks, staff, and the food menu looked solid. Can't wait to be back and try their other stuff! Also - they play a ton of punk rock and it reminded me of my college days!

Stopped in to Black Lodge for their music themed Holiday Pop-Up. Me and a friend went on a Wednesday evening around 7pm. Not too crowded, not too loud, nice staff, and good drinks! Location: a little hard to find when we were walking around outside, but there was plenty of street parking which was great. Are is very walkable and clean as well. Decor: really cute interior. Lots of tinsel and lights, which I appreciated. Everywhere I looked there were decorations, which I loved since that's what I came for! Plenty of photo-worthy spots in the bar (holiday bathroom selfies not included in this review, but they were taken). Ambiance: the music they played all night was AWESOME. It was not Christmas music, but it matched the vibe of their music themed menu, and me and my friend both really enjoyed the playlist. The lighting is perfect, not too dark to see the menus but still chill. The crowd was manageable and relatively quiet, so we could have great conversation without yelling at each other! Drinks: all 4 we tried were really good! I got the Enter Snowman (pictured) which was really gingerbread-y and yummy. Really festive, and the powdered sugar on top and decorative glass was so cute! I also got the Gifts of an Angel, which had a nice classic ginger honey flavor, and was slightly more strong. That one was served in a short glass with a king cube. Fairly priced for a themed bar in Scott's Addition, both drinks and top ended up being around $32. Overall: We had a great time! Bartenders were all very kind and attentive without being overbearing. Drinks were good, there was plenty of seating, and the theme was well done and felt really festive. My only regret is not coming hungry- the food looked AMAZING. Would recommend!

My friends and I visited Black Lodge this weekend for their holiday bar takeover "Now That's What I Call (Black Lodge) Christmas." We were absolutely obsessed with the menu and throwback to as seen on TV albums we grew up with. The bar is currently decked out with holiday lights too. Do know that it gets extremely crowded and loud on a Saturday night. We first enjoyed our drinks outside and then found an empty table inside. There are about four tables for big groups here. Black Lodge is incredible. It has huge restaurant industry people vibes which makes it so cool. I loved visiting for their holiday bar. I ordered the Sleigh Ya! Outkast (a frozen drink with gin, capelletti, grapefruit, lime, rosemary) and adored it. I'm blanking on a brown sugar drink I ordered, but that was yummy too. If you haven't visited for their holiday bar special, I highly recommend checking it out.

As a bartender, I enjoy a good cocktail menu. Was able to try 3 drinks here and they were pretty good. The frozen "Sleigh Ya" was well balanced(I had 2), the Highway To the Manger Zone, a whiskey cocktail, was light and tasty, and the mezcal "Gifts of an Angel" was fairly light for a mezcal drink (in a good way). Would love to come after holidays to see what else they have

The food is weirdly amazing IMO. We had a shrimp roll that was excellent and a chicken sandwich that is basically Chick-fil-A but better by 100%, it is dangerous knowing that sandwich exists. The drinks are great, I had a frozen fernet + turbo coke and a frozen gin and tonic and both were awesome.Beer is definitely way overpriced. Imo get the frozen drinks. The novelty is nice and the flavors are good.I gave the atmosphere 3 stars bc Black Lodge is supposed to be modeled after the twin peaks bar and it's just not. They have a generic building and slapped some things here and there. I'm not even a hardcore Twin Peaks person and NO. Lol. Ok. I'll give 4. The atmosphere is fine, it's a bar where you can hear each other talking and I like that a lot.

I had a fun night at Black Lodge. It's a small bar with a good ambiance. There are multiple seating areas, such as at the bar, a couch, and multiple tables. In addition to specialty drinks, the also have a really unique menu of hot dogs and wings. It is located in the heart of Scott's Addition and there are numerous places nearby if you want to walk around on a night out. There are numerous street parking options, but be prepared that the weekends get very busy!

Black Lodge, tucked next to Brenner Pass in the back of Scott's Addition, is a great option for a late-night drink or a bite to eat. After 9 pm, they just have regular hot dogs, which is fine by me. They used to have a lazy Susan of sauce options, including a fantastic horseradish mustard, but now they only have regular mustard and ketchup. I hope they plan to bring the better sauces back sometime. It's also where you can find the fondue frites that Brenner took off their menu and now no longer serve as an off-menu option. They were one of my favorite dishes that Brenner offered, so I'm glad they live on somewhere.Drinks are good, often extra strong, and they mix up the list quite frequently, which is nice. They have beer, wine, and cocktails, some of which are frozen.Service is perfunctory - usually the same 2-3 people working in there, and they're never ones for conversation.Overall, it's a good vibe.

It is easy to walk past this spot but once you walk inside you will enjoy the scenery. I had no idea this was so close to me. I ate the swordfish and pleased with how it was cooked. It tasted like.they used a tomato based sauce and although I favor lemon with fish, it worked for this dish. I would go and try a few more items on the menu.
