Unfortunately, the service was not the best. The food...ahhh questionable! The Margaritas were very good! It is Not an authentic Mex food!! No regular salsa, it's Pico de Gallo and it was very dry. They don't have home made salsa!! No great! More in the low ok!

This spot was awesome ! Food was delicious as well. Our server Otto made us table side guacamole and it was so fresh and yum. His service was fact and accurate. Beautifully decorated! Bathrooms were clean too :) We stayed on Cary street and struggled to find food late night but these guys served us even though they were closing soon and everyone was so kind and welcoming. Will be back !!

We came in on Saturday around 4ish pm, surprisingly it was not busy. We ordered drinks, appetizers and entrees. The drinks were watered down and tasted like nothing. I ordered a frozen margarita so I figured, maybe I should have just gotten on the rocks. My wife had a margarita on the rocks and it still tasted like nothing. Next we ordered the elotes, what we got was over cooked and chewy. The texture was terrible, I informed The waitress to let the kitchen know the corn was over cooked. At this point we had already placed our entrees. We didn’t have high hopes for the food but we figured we see. The waitress came back with more corn and said the kitchen made another order. The color wasn’t as dark but again had a chewy, gummy texture. At this point more people have started to come into the restaurant. The poor waitress was drowning and as we watched the bartender start to help her with the other tables we noticed everyone was getting their food but us. After watching far too long we called the waitress over and told her to cancel our order and bring the check. She said ok, went to get the check and came back asking what we ordered. We told her our order again and she disappeared to the back, only to return stating the kitchen was getting backed up and she can put the orders in again and we can take them to go free of charge. There were only 5 or 6 other tables and they were getting their food before us so it wasn’t a matter of the kitchen getting backed up, it seemed as though she didn’t put our orders in. She seemed to have an attitude at this point so we payed for elotes and drinks that were terrible and left. Do not waste your time or money here

Don't do any work for Carlos, the owner unless you get paid on the spot because you'll get screwed. Now I know why he couldn't tell me who worked on his Sign before

The only thing good about this place is the Chips, Salsa and music. Waited 40 mins for food. We were the ONLY ones in the restaurant. When food finally arrived, it was cold. They reheated the food, it was then over done, but the beans and rice was still cold. Gratuity was automatically included. It was happy hour, but because we did not specifically ask for a happy hour menu we paid full price. We were not presented with a happy hour menu from the waitress. Queso dip was an $8.00 surprise. Again, waitress did not tell us it came at a cost. Even if food was hot it would not have been worth the $78.00 tab.

some coworkers and I came here around 3:15pm and we were told they were closed and don’t open again until 5pm.The door was open and in multiple areas they say that they are open from 11:30am to 9:30pm every Thursday. Nothing stating they’re closed between lunch and dinner service. They need to update their information on their website and signs outside

Very nice, authentic, and flavor rich food. The ambiance and music are good and the staff are friendly as well. It's one of the real good mexican places. This place also has a bar with many options to chill out with friends and family.

Not one to write negative reviews for places, but this one felt like a sense of duty to warn others. Buddy and I stopped in here one day while out and about downtown. Service was great, no issues there, but the food left much to be desired. The house salsa was uninspired and seemed like it could use some lime juice or other acidity to spice it up. An order of cheese dip in attempt to salvage the chips was not tremendously better. It was gelling up in minutes. Maybe the best thing we had was the "Mexirolls" - but these were overly greasy in my opinion and not exactly a top notch example of TexMex cuisine. I ordered fajitas and was surprised at how under-seasoned they were overall. The veggies in the plate were very large and chunky, they had not been pared down to a size to let them cook well. And the refried beans served with my plate were a pretty unappetizing slurry. My buddy had a suspicion of who owned/ran this establishment after trying the fried plantains with his plate. For those who aren't aware, fried plantains are more of a Colombian thing. And the food we had was not Mexican or TexMex food, but a Colombian's interpretation of TexMex.Carlos Londono is the man who owns Casa Fiesta, and the quality of food matches the kind of uninspired, soulless emulation of TexMex I've caught wind of from his other establishments. As everyone will mention about this place and the others, the vibes are cool, sure. But it's style over substance. I would avoid Casa Fiesta and Londono's other establishments (Tequila Sunrise, La Bodega, Papi's, and Margarita’s Cantina) if you care about getting genuinely good Mexican food. Goodness knows there are plenty of other quality spots that deserve your dollar more. And as others have mentioned, yes, they add an automatic 15% gratuity to "parties of 1 or more". Yikes.

I’ve eaten here twice. This is the first time I’ve dined in. Both times I visited was around lunch time, once during the week and once the weekend. Both times, I was the only person in the restaurant. The staff is friendly and attentive. The food is okay. I’ve had the nachos and the egg rolls. Both of those are appetizers and cost $10-$15. The portions are pretty big. The decor and art is amazing. While waiting for my food, I toured The Frida Room, room for large parties. There is. Tone of Frida Kahlo art. It’s a good lunch spot. I took the bus, but know that parking can be a challenge in this area.

I went to this restaurant because I saw a video on social media. What I should have paid attention to was not the decor which drew me in, but the lack of people in the restaurant. The queso was terrible, and I’ve never had a queso I didn’t like until now. The salsa had a very onion forward taste. The chips also tasted a bit stale. My tacos came out with old dark cilantro and soggy old lettuce. I did send it back and was brought back a fresh plate that looked much better. Don’t let the atmosphere fool you into spending your money on bad food!

The carnitas mole, tacos, elote, and wings were all top-10. The mole was nuanced with a great depth of flavor. The pork was fall-apart tender. The chorizo taco with loose sausage meat was especially delicious, with a nice, smokey touch. The wings were a nice mix of flats and drummers with a real Buffalo sauce. They were cooked perfectly. Also, the house red salsa was perfect, with a fresh touch with the chilies and cilantro, and nice heat--noticable but not overwhelming. The decor was fun, bright Frieda Kahlo colors and a collection of dias de muertos dolls. If you are in Shockoe Bottom, you'll be doing yourself a disservice if you don't try this place.

So this was a random find for me and my wife. Parking was a little crazy and there were a lot of stairs but when I tell you the service, drinks, atmosphere and food were absolutely amazing it was. The girl that made the fresh guacamole let’s just say she put her foot in lol my wife didn’t even want to share with me best I’ve had in the city. The street corn and egg rolls were absolutely tantalizing to my tongue. Drinks were delicious and strong. The entrees were carnitas and steak tacos sounds simple but not my compliments to the chef. I would definitely recommend this place and we will be going back many more times!Parking: I didn’t really see a parking deck and the street parking was limited.
