Grabbed a couple of hot dogs and some tater tots for lunch. I tried the Cincinnati Dog and the Richmond Dog. The buns were light and fluffy, the dogs had a great snap, and the tots were crispy and well seasoned. I was not a fan of the chili on the Cincinnati Dog but the chili on the Richmond Dog was exactly what I was looking for. Will definitely be back!

Hot dogs were great, as expected, but I was super surprised how good the burger and fries were! The buns are apparently baked fresh locally and they're so light and fluffy and the beef is super fresh tasting as well. Happy to add this quaint little spot to the lunch rotation.

I was really looking forward to trying this place but was rather disappointed. Their menu is huge, with so many dogs to choose from. I ended up just asking for recommendations and got two that I cannot even remeber what the were called.The dogs were very small, in general and in proportion to the buns. The buns didn't really taste all that good, and the thing as a whole was rather bland.Service was friendly, but rather slow considering that it's a hot dog place.

I ordered a burger which was pretty good and a Pepsi to drink. The only reason I ordered the pepsi was to meet the 15 dollar delivery minimum. I was at work so I could not leave at the time. My order total was 35 which included a 10 dollar tip, which I thought was pretty good given that my meal was only 16 dollars and the delivery was maybe 5 blocks to my office. Of course they forgot the Pepsi so I called to see if it could be brought to me, as the "3rd Party" who I ordered through advised to contact City dogs if there were any issues. The person who answered the phone stated "well since you are not that far I can re-make it but I would have no way of getting it to you." The whole point of getting it delivered is so I wouldn't have to go there. Needless to say I won't be ordering delivery from them again. Signed Fangry Pregnant woman.

Really don't know how a business that specializes in hot dogs does such a terrible job on making the easiest thing to make... dogs are small and overdone... EXTREMELY UNIMPRESSED... DO NOT WASTE YOUR TIME OR MONEY...ordered 3 chili and cheese dogs...1 with mustard... they didn't mark the 1 with mustard and since they put it under the chili and cheese so you can't see it guess who got it?.. the person that hates mustard... don't know how this place stays in business
The food was tasty. I would have liked a larger hot dog. The chili could have been tastier in my humble opinion. The fries were rustic and very tasty to me! The atmosphere was intimate for eating in and adequate for a hot dog place. Customer service was excellent. Prices were fair! 6 hot dogs were $20 bucks 3 orders of fries $10…. So about 10 bucks per person for the 3 of us without beverages! I would definitely return! Alcohol was also on the menu along with burgers. A fun city joint.

Things I like: City Dogs!Things I don't like: Hair in my City Dogs!I've been going to City Dogs for years. Great hotdogs. Today, I unfortunately found a thick reddish (beard?) hair in my corn dog nuggets. Gross! Also, the staff could be a bit more friendly. Called in a to-go order this afternoon and asked if they still offer the Tuesday special. I had never been on Tuesdays before, but the special is listed on their website. The girl was a bit snarky... "No... we haven't offered specials in 3 years." It wasn't what she said, but how she said it. I apologized and let her know I only asked because I saw it (today) on their website. Might be a good idea to update your website if it has incorrect, 3 year old information. And please put some sanitation standards into practice. No one likes hair in their food.

My friends and I had dinner here recently and it was great. We were told we arrive no table service and we would have to wear at the bar. As it turns out, we chatted with the bartender, and he ended up coming over to our table and taking our orders, and then delivering a food and chatting with us about the area. We had a delightful meal, and the hotdogs were fabulous. I definitely recommend this cute little restaurant.

Stopped by for a late night meal and it was probably the best food I'd eaten during my stay in Richmond. The service was quick and the food came out fast and most importantly it was on point! I ordered the blue cheese burger with a side of fries. The portion size were large and filling. They also serve drinks here if you're looking for a late night spot or mid day drink. The atmosphere is very laid back but seems like it can get pretty loud with the night crowd. They did check IDs for the late night crowd.

After craving a good Chicago dog since about 1994, I finally made it downtown to this place. The Chicago dog is so good here, I'll be back sooner rather than later. Tots were just tots, next visit I'll try a different side. Richmond Original was excellent too, but needs cole slaw to become a true West Virginia Slaw Dog. Sorry, being raised on WVa slaw dogs, that's just my two cents. Parking can be a challenge during peak times, but it's not the worst I've seen in the city.
