My experience at this restaurant was highly unprofessional and disrespectful. They had me waiting an hour for food. The owner has a very trifling attitude. And I would never recommend this type of business to anybody.

Was really excited to go here because of the good reviews but now I agree with the bad reviews I saw. First time and last visit there. Upon arriving we were greeted and seated.Placed our drink order sweet tea and a lemonade. Both drinks tasted like the powered tea/ lemonade you make from the store. After about 15 minutes he cane and got our order: fried catfish, cabbage and mac & cheese. Chopped steak smothered with onions and peppers, green beans and mashed potatoes.A few minutes later he brought 2 plates to the table which were dirty and 20 minutes later we received our cornbread.After waiting over an hour for our entrees the chopped steak did not have the onions or peppers on them. The green beans tasted like they came out of the can, no taste or seasoning. The beef patties were good though.Catfish was good greatly seasoned, cabbage was bland and lacked seasoning. Mac and cheese I did both like at all. Was asked if I needed tartar sauce once my 1st piece of catfish was gone.This was a very disappointing experience. Customer service lacks, for all the time we waited not one time did anyone come communicate the wait for the food. We had to ask another server for refill.The wooden benches were dirty and dusty. If you are going to sell vegetables out the can at least season them to have taste.

We literally waited 2 hours and all we got was drinks and cornbread. Our party of 12 arrived at 2:15 pm we’re seated at 2:30 pm and it’s 4:35 pm and we still haven’t been served our entrees. (We were told they don’t take reservations).This is not a good spot to bring a group. We heard the staff yelling and arguing in the kitchen! The cornbread was excellent though. Our server was pleasant but clearly there are some issues in the kitchen.Parking: Parking lot was pretty full on the Sunday afternoon.

Found this great place for food. Very close to the Botanical garden. There was a lil wait bc of the amount of customers. But, the wait was well worth it. Food was delicious! Sweet potato fries were amazing! So were my big fried chicken wings. Definitely coming back!

The service was awful, it took two hours to get our meal and we had to ask for refills on our lemonade and coke beverages. The first time my husband and I visit there, we ordered take out and that took extremely a long time as well. No greeting at all, I had to ask when will we get our food.? Just very unprofessional. Tonight cornbread was finally brought to us and it was cold. It was disappointing. I advise training on how to be a good waitress/server, good customer service is the key to keep customers coming back. Just thought I would bring this to your attention.Thanks

Food and service were less superb than previous visits. They were pretty busy and didn't seem to have enough wait staff on a Friday night. Service remains friendly but was slow due to reasons already mentioned. Food arrived and was tasty but all of our sides were cold. Macaroni and cheese, which usually hits, wasn't its usual either. We aren't ready to scratch it from our lists of 'must visit' when we are in town but other local faves may be pushed ahead of this one next time. One cautionary note for diners, if you dine in there is an automatic 20% gratuity added. Not a big deal but when my final receipt (for signature) arrived it had a placeholder and 'options' for gratuity (18%, 20%, 25%). If you aren't paying attention, you could end up leaving a 40% gratuity which I found to be off putting.
I ordered the chopped steak with onions and peppers mashed potatoes and slaw and my wife ordered the fried pork chops with cabbage and Mac and cheese. Wow -we both hit a home run. This is the best food we have had at a local restaurant. Everything on our plates was perfect. The staff was friendly and helpful. Only problem is we sat too close to the speaker playing music. Next time we will sit away from the speaker and there will be a next time. All the food tastes like momma cooked it. Definitely try the Mac and cheese. It didn't come out of a box like other places I've been.

Food has been hit or miss. My family and I have given the restaurant 3 or 4 chances to get it right. For example Menu says jumbo shrimp however they gave us baby shrimp. At times the chicken was fried and burnt. The fried fish was like rubber The mac/cheese was old and dry You could tell the greens came out of a can My family and I will not be returning
